Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001

Where traditions are not so rare;
    Sea, country and works scent the air;
A multitude of monuments,
    Planted tubs and patterned pavements.

The longish pedestrian malls;
    The remnants of defensive walls;
Historic buildings are a gauge
    Of the respect for heritage.

Wheat, rape and pines in the fields;
    Estuaries guarded by shields;
Long sandy beaches and wide scenes;
    Romantic-ruin go-betweens.

Rivers in parts licked by trees,
    Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries,
And crossed by practical delights -
    Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.

Fine churches headed at Durham;
    Football kits ad infinitum;
Kept castles - one for study;
    Masonry behind masonry.

And, with moulding-works out that way,
It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

It is said, that we die...
When hope and desire has gone from our eye.

I say, we die...
The moment we start to live a lie.
So hold on hard to all that is true...
For that is the Essence of YOU.

It is said, that we die...
When love and forgiveness is no longer in our eye.

I say, we die...
When sadness no longer makes us cry...
I'll tell you why?...

We are meant to learn...
For every action, there is a return.
For every return, there is an account...
And to that account alone...
 Life must post the whole amount.
We are meant to learn how it feels...
To be receiving all that we deal.

Total Immunity is not allowed...
No matter how insignificant you may appear ...
in a crowd...
We are accountable for all our omissions and acts...
Ahhhh...And that's a matter of fact.

It is said, that we die...
When Integrity has left the, eye.

I agree, that both hope and dreams...
Are the threads in life’s seams?
Go back, if you ever drop a stitch...
and re-knit the row...
To make hope and dreams grow.

What you must never do...
If you ever drop a stitch ...
Ignore that it has happened...
and leave it in a ditch.

Embrace it, Honour it, understand it...
As something that you must let go...
And always face the past...
Ahhh..We le

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN

Once drove an old sedan, up north,
From a place in Sydney to Cairns;
Then to Kuranda I went forth,
By train, to look without set plans.

I browsed through the trendy market,
With fresh fruits of tropical kind;
Walked to the creek through lush thicket -
Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.

I dined in a scenic cafe;
Then, outside, as I wrote for yen,
Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey,
You go walkabout with your pen.”

Request or question, I don’t know -
Assured voices, elderly men.
That’s now several years ago,
And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.

Dearest Daudi,

May peace fill all the empty spaces around you
and in you!
May contentment answer all your wishes!
May comfort be yours, warm and soft like a sigh.
And may the coming year shows you that every day
is really a first day, a new year.

Let abundance be your constant companion,
so that you have much to share.

May mirth be near you always,
like a lamp shining brightly
on the many paths you travel.

May you be true Love!

Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year!

Love and Blessings, Isabell

       "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD.
" (Amos 8:11)

       In the novel No Blade of Grass, a virus attacks all the grasses of the world, including wheat, barley, rye, oats, and rice. The world is plunged into famine and violence. People kill for food.

       God warns us a different kind of famine, "a famine ... of hearing the words of the LORD.
"
A lack of food can lead to disease and death. A famine of the Word can produce eternal consequences. Without access to God's Word, we lack wisdom for life and the message of eternal life in Christ. We need "the sincere milk of the word, that [we] may grow thereby.
" (1 Peter 2:2)

       We can identify with the prophet when he said, "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by Thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
" (Jeremiah 15:16)

Give me, O Lord, a strong desire
To look in Thy Word each day;
Help me to hide its truths in my heart,
Lest from Thy path my feet would stray.

Without a heart for God, we cannot hear His Word.

God bless you.

You know I had to try with some Luganda right? :D glad you were surprised... that was the plan!

I'm not going to say that I wish the 2008 will be a good year... but instead I'll encourage you to make the best of it as it's nothing but a new beginning... A brand new chance of 365 days that come as a gift, for us to be what and who we really want to be...

So let's take another step this year, let's start with a positive mind and all the strength that we've gotten from the experiences we went through and the lessons we learned in the past ones.

Let's write new words, let's create new pages, let's see new things and capture new moments, let's think big and DO BIG THINGS!

But there's still something that I will repeat this year... it is this: I believe in you Daudi! I did in the past, I do in the present, and I will keep on doing it for as long as your essence remains the same.

Much, much love!
Your friend,
Lore
