Welcome!

What makes a city great? To me, a great city is one that is known around the world for the quality of life it offers its citizens. A great city is a clean and creative city. A great city is a safe and strong city. A great city is a city that leaves no one behind and strives to create opportunity for all. In the past three years as Mayor I have helped to build on Toronto's greatness by cleaning up city hall, the streets, and the waterfront.

It's a city's residents who make it great. But good leadership is essential. That is why I'm running for re-election as Mayor. I need your help to continue making our common vision of Toronto a reality.

So please take some time to look around. Look at what we've already accomplished and where we go from here. Get involved in the campaign by making a donation, volunteering, or simply signing up for our newsletter.

Together we can keep building a great city. After all, it is our city and our future.

Thanks so much!

I think we should have a casino here in the city--it will create jobs, give extra revenue for the city and attract more tourists. Also, I think the TTC should consider doing fundraisers instead of hiking the price of the TTC. Have a glamorous fashion show like the AIDS group does or have a concert with famous bands, show it on TV and get donations. Maybe the city can use these ideas as well. There are solutions out there!!

Hey Mayor Miller,

I just spent a weekend in New York City, on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, in the heart of Manhattan, seeing the whole city from the Lower East Side to Times Square, Central Park and the Upper West/East sides.

You know the first thing I realized when I got back to Toronto? NOT ONCE did I get hassled for money by a panhandler on the streets of NYC.

In T.O., it's two-three times a day minimum I get accosted for money.

ENOUGH OF THE PANHANDLERS !! Believe me, I feel for the homeless, but something has to be done. NO ONE should be subjected to being accosted on the streets for money every day.

Time to do something, sir. Thanks.

There's an ad for that Neil Young Concert at Massey Hall in '71 in Rolling Stone Magazine. Gotta admit, that's a nice little promo for music culture in the city.

Mayor Miller, we, at Barons and Lengthy, are a little disturbed that you haven't been more vocal in the fight against styrofoam in cities. We need to pick up the charge led by such cities as San Francisco and BAN this product.

I tried to see about calling you last night on Citytv, but couldn't get through. I would like to know what is going to be done about violence going on in the neighbourhoods. I live in subsidized housing right now and there seems to be problems with some of the tenants. There is no superintendent or cameras in the building which I feel there should be. I have let the housing people know about it as I am concerned for my safety and others in the building. I was already threatened by one of my neighbours when they were drunk! Also, I would like to know what can be done about older people getting work. There is alot being done for the youth of our city, but not much being done for older people who are in need of work. I am finding it more difficult in retaining employment as you get older!
