Artrocker say this about buffalo!:
Excellent puzzle rock for people who like their angles acute. Mayors of Mikazaki do the mathS and get an A++ ... I’m tipping them as ones to watch in 2009.
Unpeeled say this about buffalo!:
If you like you music flat like the topogrophy of Hungary, or melodic like a trip to Hansons basment studio, or creamy like the man fat on your collar, then you won't like this. But if you like your music dirty like your knees after giving head in a public lavatory, adrenaline soaked like Evil Kanievels handkerchief when he's just mopped his brow after jumping through a fire hoop suspended over a thousand rabid dalmations who haven't eaten in three days, or shouty like a teenager who's had his favourite copy of Razzle confiscated, then you will love these guys. They are a jarring soundclash of roaring punk infused with the good time squall of all those parties where you have no idea what happened but the colours were bright and you can't stop grinning. Not for fans of Dido, or in fact anything that is listened to by divorced middle aged mums who live their lives through their kids and gently collect cats until they die alone in pain through some kind of cancer. Best listened to loud.
God is in the TV say this about the kancho ep:
...There has been some real quality stuff released this year for people who like a bit of thought to go with their music, with Battles finally releasing their album, the return of Fridge, the promise of an album from iLiKETRAiNS, but on the evidence presented on this album EP, Mayors of Miyazaki have trumped them all with a massive concussion of shape-pulling, manic, shouty rock creativity. The best thing I've heard this year so far.
Organ Magazine say this about the kancho ep:
...The Mayors have the gold already, they just hit us with five instantly demanding tracks; it's that bendy shouty pointy churning thing that much loved bands like Muy Feo or Mariachi (I see they're back) or Scissormen or Homage Freaks did. Some wired kind of urgent math rock that doesn't quite add up – I like it when the math doesn't quite add up. Hardboiled yet easy to lock in to, we got one here, oh yes, more top grade Organ fuel. Five clever demanding slightly abrasive, not too abrasive, their hardboiled edgy musical awkwardness is not difficult to swallow. Nice artwork too. Five tracks, each and every one a favourite, I can't choose. Well recorded, well played, well well well – I think you'll be hearing a lot more from us about the Mayors Of Miyazaki in 2007 – don't wait until then though, I see they have some MP3s that you can download and this fine CD is well worth sending off some of you hard earned money for...We like this lots, you will tooooooooo...

El capitan el capitan!!! Last gig ever?!?! Literally can't believe that!! Just this weekend I was dragged to watch Johnny Foreigner (apparently the next best thing??!?!) and I was telling everyone to check you guys out cos you're so much better!!! And I was about to message you guys to see if you wanted to play a birthday gig with us in March. Anyway your arm can't be twisted?? Gutted...
Anyway we're also playing a free gig this Friday with Palehorse - will be good to see you there.
I'll add to that - I thought you were 'top' at the Fox t'other week, and I was gutted that I had no cash on me to buy an album. Now you're splitting up! What the hell? That's not right. It's just not right.
Yo Mayors, Once again was a super-pleasure to play with you! What a good band. This is now a fact because it is written on the internet. Laterz and that...
Tracks from our album 'Wherever You Are In The World Here Are Directions Home' are available to listen to on our MySpace page... Take a listen and let us know which is your favourite!
Don't forget to check out our videos too, featuring Barbie gone bad!
We are debuting our new sounds at the Miller, London Bridge, as part of the Tooting Bizarre show (wherein the Mayors of Miyazaki will be launching a new album).
Wednesday 10th December
Please join us early - 8:00pm - as we are opening the proceedings. The door is free. So is the show.
