Interests

  • General

Reading (fantasy, sci-fi, crime novels), watching TV, watching movies, hanging out with friends at home or at their homes, going to cafes, going to gym, travelling the world (have visited 23 countries thus far and have lived in three more), French language and anything French (except snails and frogs' legs), hanging out with my family, seeing live music and concerts. I love watching competitive ice-skating. And chocolate.
  • Music

Wide variety. Rock, metal, some country, some pop, reggae, rap, grunge and garage. No techno, no death metal, no disco, definitely no R&B. Bands/groups/individuals that come to mind at this moment are: David Bowie, Dave Dobbyn, CCR, Kate Bush, the Eagles, Nirvana, Metallica, 4NonBlondes, the Gathering. I love Skunk Anansie. Pink Floyd, Kat Stevens, Guns'n'Roses, Nightwish. Lately have really enjoyed Adam Lambert's stuff.

  • Movies

I like sci-fi and fantasy fiction, also fan of kung fu. Coming to mind: the Star Wars series (oldies), Bruce Lee stuff, the Terminator series (first two), the Lord of the Rings triology, Gattaca. Still a fan of the Karate Kid (not the Hillary Swank one though). The Goonies! American History X was memorable, as was Saving Private Ryan. The Alien series (Sigourny Weaver). Ok, so I admit I like Dirty Dancing too. RIP Patrick Swayze.

  • Television

Oscar's influence here: Battlestar Gallactica (new series and the movies). Un Dos Tres (un paso adelante) a series which I watched in France and isn’t broadcasted here. CSI Vegas, Star Trek (old and new), Medium, Merlin, Legend of the Seeker. Not a fan of reality TV except singing ones. I like the idea of finding people from no where with all that talent. X files, the Simpsons, Quantum Leap, Desperate Housewives, MASH, Happy Days, Blake 7, Friday the 13th.

  • Books

In French: Bernard Weber. In English, would say Jane Austen. I also like JK Rowling and have read all the Harry Potter series in both French and English. But I read pretty much everything from Marion Keyes, Shakespeare (on occasion), Wilbur Smith, Bryce Courtenay, and more recently, Dan Brown.

About me:

.. .. Myspace Backgrounds Myspace Backgrounds
Just moved to the "big smoke" because Oscar got a job transfer. So I had to quit my job and am currently unemployed, but actively looking! So far loving Whangarei (Northland, New Zealand). Am hoping to stay here a while as I am sick of moving towns, cities and even countries! I've lived in three countries in this order: New Zealand (born and bred), England, New Zealand, England, France, England. I wouldn't mind living in the States for a bit as that's where Oscar is from, but he doesn't want to. (He's getting to be as Kiwi as me, but the accent still needs A LOT of work). We're adopting a cat from the SPCA in the New Year, haven't had a pet since 1998!

If you are a fan of musicals, you'll like this video. It's the Sound of Music, mostly impromptu, being performed in Antwerp Station, Brussells...

Who I'd like to meet:

Let me see... More of Oscar's family (my fiance), people I can practise my French with and singers and musicians of unique and non-commercial genres. Anyone out there, feel free to write me. I'm not too fussy!

Hey Maz.. i think i am still undecided for the new years.. whats your plan?
  • Dec 22 2009 1:02 AM

Heya-shit I never check Myspace so if I've been scarce sorry. I'm living in Brisbane at present with my girlfriend-moved here from Dublin in July. Will head to NZ next year for a couple months before Canada. May even hit the Bay of Islands. I'll be in Sydney this year for New Year-though I doubt I'll be getting ripped lol I've pretty much hit the piss on the head eh. You still in NZ? Congrats on the nuptials too. I'm on Facebook still-use that mainly eh you're like the only person I know who uses Myspace predominantly!

    Hey there,

    Here's one from left field...

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?

A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:

Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella

Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.

Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here:

    Help to raise awareness.

Say have you checked out my web site recently?

Take care and keep in touch.

    Best,
    Faber.

Thanks, Maz! I haven't blogged for a while, but I intend to do so sometime soon. My birthday is a couple of days before Valentine's. thanks for the birthday wishes. Texas is still Texas. Tonight was stormy. We're entering tornado season, so that always keeps us on our toes. :)

    "definitely no R&B."

Youve probably hurt R&B's feelings. A kid at my school thought that R&B stands for rap and bitches. They breed them well in Australia!
