The Craic Festival 2009 has invited FairplayCollective to play at this years Festival. All members will be playing in the round. The show is at The Mercury Lounge, March 14th at 8pm. This is the last night of the festival and Foy Vance is also on the bill.

5th Annual U.N. Youth Assembly Autum Ashante has a gift for tweaking emotion.This time the provocative little word-smith went straight for the heart. This time she found a way to take the anguish and anger of every child that's ever been raped, abused or neglected, and drive it stake-like into the heart of anyone within earshot. It was World Youth Day at 44th street and 1st avenue in New York. Speeches, songs and power-point presentations reaffirmed what everyone already knew. The insane arrogance of man is predisposed but in no way limited to aggression. The best of the worst are debauched. No one spoke. No one coughed. No one sneezed. All eyes were fixed on this most unlikely little messenger. And when she was through, they stood and applauded. They cheered the little girl that had just invaded the core of their humanity and re-introduced them to the cathartic motivator we call shame.
