About Mbasses

Jon had successfully completed an apprenticeship working under Master Luthier Ron Blake. Ron who hadworked side by side with electric bass pioneer Carl Thompson throughout the seventies and eighties hired Jon in 1998. There in Ron's shop Jon honed his skills and has since ventured out on his own to design and create some truly artistic musical instruments. It is Jon's belief that a Bass Guitar should sound as good as it looks. With aesthetics, playability, tone and balance in mind, Jon strives to offer the best in M Basses. Jon is happy to work with individuals who range from beginners to professional artists and is always happy to work with his existing customers as well as prospective customers to ensure they are offered the construction and options to accommodate their needs. ";

You are a true artisan and luthier..you are only going to get better and i cant see myself going anywhere else for my musical tools. the attention to detail is exquisite, the sound...WOW...you are the yard stick from which all are measured. cant wait till the fretless 5 arrives and we begin our next endeavor. cheers and thank you very much for caring so much about your craft!!!!
