M*BATES - WE PIMP YOUR STAGE

This Band is founded 2002 in Nuremberg/Bavaria/Germany. All Bandmembers are Skater,Surfer or Snowboarder an put this lifestyle into their music. M*BATES are working their way slowly but surely into the hearts and ears of fans with innovative lyrics and unmanipulated sound. Their assertive stage presence and songs that make you wanna subtly “loose it” have presented the band with a large group of fans in Germany and (due to the M*Bates Internet gig) M*Bates also in the neighbouring countries.

With live performances at festivals all around Germany (i.e. with Bands like: Bananafishbones, The Busters, Die Happy, Angelika Express, Fire in the attic, Peilomat, Fotos, Itchy Poopzkid, Fury in the Slaughterhouse, She-male trouble, Judy Bailey) the boys proven that nothing is impossible on stage. 2007 the M*BATES entered the mainstage of the Sandboarding Worldchampoinships.p>

M*BATES, rocked their way into the south-west German finals at “Emergenzabis” the biggest European newcomer challenge; they came in second place at “Rockstars 2002” a competition sponsored by Radio Gong. This resulted in a lot more air- time with the local radio stations (Radio Gong, Star FM, AFK Max, Rock’n Radio). In 2003 the guys recorded their first “EP” with 6 strong tracks, at Medicine Man Studios. The “EP” is called “M’bating is not a crime” sold through local Music shops. Close to a thousand CD’s nearly sold in no time flat.

This CD was the reason for a nomination for “Best Alternative” at the 2004 German Rock- and Pop Prize and an invitation to present themselves live at Hamburg’s “Neue Flora”. 2005 the four boys were also nominated for the 23th German Rock and Pop Award in three categories: Best Alternativband - Best Rockband - Best Song 2005.

The Band is (still) a bit of a secret and received some attention from certain magazines. “Prinz” called them in their 05/04 edition the “future heroes of the rock guitar” with their “Post-Grunge-College-Rock”. The CD critique of Internet Magazine ”. NOIZE talked about a “promising band, which one should keep an eye on".

“TERRA X”, the snowboard and skater fashion house supported the band with sponsorships.

You can expect a mix of rock, grunge, punk-rock, reggae all the way to heartbreaking ballads. With a good portion of sing-along, sex, politics, dirt and love the audience becomes infected by the ecstasy, last but not least, because of the unique bi-vocal sound. What’s left is a great mood and lot of earworms. In other words: “the feel good company”.

Okt. 2006 the M*BATES signed a record deal at the german indie-label tausendgrad and recorded the single "wastelife" with three hot tracks (wastelife, lost pants hero and member of the race). You can buy the single "wastelife" in every internet-shop (musicload, amazon, mp3.de and many many more)
