~As a senior member of Kusika and the Zambezi Marimba Band, I have had the honor of performing with several master musicians, most notably mbira masters Cosmas Magaya, Ambuya Beauler Dyoko, Forward Kwenda, Chris Berry, and Erica Azim; master drummers Obo Addy, Titos Sompa, Bernard Woma, and Sulley Imoro; Gyil masters Kakraba Lobi and Bernard Woma; percussionist/vocal performer Ahmondylla Best; master musicians Lourindo Jossias Cuna and Abel "Belito" Fumo of the Mozambique National Dance Company; Obo Addy's Okropong; and the late composer/percussionist/musi-cal director of Kusika, Kweyao Agyapon.... ...I have been blessed to study intensively with the above mentioned masters, as well as many others, including mbira masters Fradreck, Fungai, and Samuel Mujuru; and Cuban master percussionist/composer Francisco Mora Catlett
One of my greatest joys has been learning to sing in the language of the Shona people of Zimbabwe. I've had the great honor over the years to study this most beautiful language in Song with premier Zimbabwean female mbira master, vocalist, and healer, Ambuya Beauler Dyoko... I can never thank her enough for this precious gift... Ndatenda, Ambuya! Ndatenda, Ancestral Spirits!
