On the Q and A below, please do not take my word for it... READ THE SCRIPTURES FOR YOURSELF!
Q: What is significant about "the East from the West"?
A: Psalms 103:12
God tells us that He REMOVES our sin as far as the east is from the west. If you drive north to the north pole, you then begin going south. The east and west, however, never meet. You can travel east for your eternity and you will never suddenly switch headings.

Why do bad things happen to good people?
A: Romans 5:12
The penalty for sin is death. Every sin creates a penalty that must be met. EVERYONE has sinned (Romans 3:23). There are spiritual laws just like physical laws. Example: If you speed, you're going to get a ticket! God did not create humans to die. Sickness and diseases are a result of Sin. No matter how "good" a person is, they have still sinned. Jesus went to the cross to pay the penalty of sin for you!
Q: Why can't I understand the bible when I read it?
A:
2nd Corinthians 4:3, 4
When sin entered into this world, man gave dominion over to satan. Jesus did not argue that fact when he was tempted in the wilderness, He (Jesus) simply stated that he will not bow down to ANY other God. If satan has dominion over this world, then logically, pretty much everything we call "normal" or "human nature" is in fact contrary to God. We were born lost and under the dominion of satan, which is why Jesus said "you can't even SEE the kingdom of God unless you are born again!". (John 3:3) You have to be born of the Spirit of God to understand the Spirit of God.
Q: Aren't there many paths to God?
A: John 14:6
Many religions and even so called "christians" think there are many ways. Jesus clearly says that HE is the ONLY way. You either believe Him or you belive satan. (read above).
Q: I believe in God, isn't that enough?
A: James 2:19, 20
Although we are not saved by our "works" or the things we do, a person's life will tell the truth about who a person really is. Ask yourself, would Jesus do the things I do? Would he talk like I talk? Jesus said "If you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). It is impossible for a mortal man to do, but once you become born of His Spirit, you receive the power to become the children of God and walk in truth! (John 1:12)
