Following in the footsteps of great Pennsylvania bands like Train and Live, My Book Your Sandwich is a dynamic young band on the heels of their first national tour. Beginning virtually by accident when an assortment of musicians from small town Williamsport, PA were called upon to provide music for a Christmas party. Four years, six college degrees, and a few member changes later, MBYS has developed a unique blend of rock that appeals to listeners of all ages. Built around Spencer Sweeting's soulful, earthy vocals and steady acoustic rhythms and Karl Fisher's effect laden mandolin pickings, the band makes a stand to be set apart from your normal college rock bands. The balancing act between Fisher and the melodic distortion of Chris Jones' Edge-like lead guitar sound keeps the band with one foot firmly entrenched in rock and the other touching down wherever it wants to. Jon Smock's thundering bass pulse accents the outstanding skill that Nathan Reed brings to his drum throne. With influences ranging from U2 and the Boss, to Nickel Creek and the Flecktones, and all the way back to classic Motown, My Book Your Sandwich has a little something for everyone as they share their stories on life, love, faith, and give fans a little something for the ride home.
