Welcome to my world....Some important things in my world include God, The Good Book, Family, Music, Playing Piano, Painting, Photography, the beach, and a ton of other things. Music is a great part of my life and I can't imagine life without it, just as I can't imagine life without the Good Book. Oh yes, and I love the Gunsmoke reruns.
When I was growing up I knew the words to just about every country and pop song on the radio, and every song in our church hymnal. Spending many weekends with my grandparents, I remember waking up to the smell of coffee brewing and bacon frying in the mornings.
I'm an optimist, maybe that is why I am so driven to fight to the finish for things that I believe in, and that I believe to be right. But life has taught me that there are some things you just can't change, and it takes a lot of courage to stand up for something you believe is right. As Waylon's song says "I've always been different, with one foot over the line"....Well, THAT'S A ME!!!!
I firmly believe that you can do anything you believe in your heart that you can do. My Mom taught me that. It's not the amount of time you spend on this earth that is important, but what you do with your life while you are here that really counts. In other words it's that part of your life between the beginning and the end of it that matters most. I call this the "dash".
My life's had its share of ups and downs, disappointments and bad decisions, but when the final curtain falls, I would hope that folks could say that I was a good sport in this game of life. Perhaps they can say that I accepted the bad breaks as a part of the game and that I always played fairly.
I've studied the Good Book dilligently in hopes that I'd be familiar with all the rules, and when I walk my final steps I ask no special favors. I only hope to believe in my heart that I played as well as I could with the hand that I was dealt, and when the hard blows came my way that I handled them with courage, dignity, and to the best of my abilities. And most importantly, that I will remember that God never deals a player more than he or she can handle.
Being associated with the music business has enabled us to work with many singers, songwriters, musicians and other music professionals, and I am so impressed with the generosity and loving spirit of these great and talented folks.
It has been our privilege to come to know and get to work with some of the best of the best, and for this we are so thankful! Some of these folks have changed our lives forever. You all know who you are and we thank you for being our friends; You HAVE made a difference! Without you and our faith in God, we could never have done this.
I hope that you will take a tour of my paintings & photographs and enjoy them. After becoming a Bob Ross Certified Instructor (happy little trees man), I then ventured out on my own, just doing my own thing and trying to develop my own style, such as it is. With one foot always over the line, it's a challenge.
