St Practice Daze – Only 6 months until our favorite day of the year - St. Patrick’s Day. We’ll celebrate the half-way mark with live Irish music by Patsy & John, those Bad Boys from Boston. Plus, green beer & Irish food. Friday, September 25 & Saturday, September 26. Starting at 10 p.m. $2 cover.

Octoberfest Beers – Now serving a multitude of local and international Octoberfest brews including Stoudt’s Fest, Flying Fish’s Octoberphish, Victory’s Festbier and Warsteiner’s Oktoberfest (from Germany).

German Foods – We’ve added German foods to our menu this month too. Mussels Steamed in Octoberfest Lager; Grilled Pork Loin served with Sweet and Sour Cherry Sauce, Braised Cabbage, Apples and Potato Dumpling; German Style Grilled Sausage Platter with Bratwurst and Knockwurst with Red Cabbage and Warm German Potato Salad and much more. If you love German food, come treat yourself! Every lunch comes with a free bowl of homemade soup.

Midtown Village Fall Festival - Don’t miss the 4th annual bash on Saturday, October 3. Visit our Beer Garden on Drury Street for German beers and foods, deejay starting at noon and karaoke at 2 p.m. Performances, family activities & food throughout Midtown Village (from Walnut Street to Chestnut Street and 12th to Juniper).

McGillin’s 1860 IPA – The unfiltered IPA that we created for our upcoming 150th anniversary celebration is now available on tap. The oak aged brew is made by Stoudt’s Brewing. Soon bottles will be available across the state. Have you tried it yet?

Halloween – McGillin’s has not only spirits (drinks) but also spirits (ghosts). Come by this fall for McGillin’s Pumpkin Bombs, made with pumpkin liquor and Captain Morgan Rum in Pumpkin Ale, or a Pumpkin Martini. On October 31, we’ll have Halloween drink specials. Wear your costume!

Friday the 13th – Get lucky at McGillin’s on Friday, November 13. Sip our superstitious drinks – the “Rabbit’s Foot” and “4-Leaf Clover.” Or press your luck, with the “Black Cat” or “Open Umbrella.” Those lucky enough to come early (5-7 p.m.), get $5 pitchers of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Karaoke will begin at 10 p.m. Brace yourself for some Spooky karaoke with songs mentioning vampires, witches and werewolves. Starts 9 p.m. and continues until closing at 2 a.m.

Historic Trivia Contest – Dr. W.O. Krone (photo above) started celebrating birthdays at McGillin’s in 1934, when Ma McGillin still ran the bar. McGillin’s is turning 150. Guess how old Dr. Krone turned at this recent birthday party at McGillin’s. The first one to guess correctly wins a $25 gift certificate. No repeat winners please.
