About me: Can you spot Paul C in this crazy Not the Mob video from 1985?...The name of the song playing in the video is "The Three Cavaliers" by The Mandolindley Road Show, which is the group Paul C played bass for...It kind of looks like a New York No Wave/punk era art video that captures the same Zeitgeist and aesthetic upon which Glenn O'Brien's "TV Party", Blondie's "Rapture" and "Downtown 81" were predicated...It also fits into the same category as some of Robert Frank's unscripted, wild improvisational-style video films...Filming looks as if it started in the old Lower West Side warehouse district (now known as Tribeca) on Broadway...The Odeon is still there at 145 West Broadway, and the hotel seen in the beginning may have been The Hotel Chelsea (where Andy Warhol directed the Chelsea Girls in 1966), which is situated at 222 West 23rd St...It made perfect sense that the video would have been made in this area as it was really close to the epicenter of New York City art life in the mid to late 80s...I think Paul C's sister Pattie would agree this film does capture the light, artistic and spontaneous side of her brother's personality...thank you for everything Ms. McKasty! Peace, love and blessings to you and the family...Thanks first and foremost to the reason we're all here: Paul C McKasty...Thank you for all the great music and art...Rest in Peace, man...you're well respected, loved and admired by many people - many known and even more unknown...thank you for inspiring me to make this page...it's my simple way of paying respects...Peace
Peace and blessings. I would like to share this with the world: Scanning thru my boxes of cassettes, I located this interview with Mikey D & The LA Posse from 1986 with "Mr. Magic's Rap Attack" (107.5 WBLS-New York).
It actually includes a RARE bit of vocal insight from the great Paul C! I made it downloadable so everyone can own a piece of TRUE history. Here's the link: http://www.divshare.com/download/7619067-ca6 (Paul speaks around the 6:00 minute mark).
One love to his family, friends, and fans who appreciate his legacy & this page. Peace.
"Give The Drummer Some" It was like breaking the DaVinci code, but I finally was able to reproduce the "Give The Drummer Some" break. I'm sure with an SP1200 it would be more exact to how Paul C did it. Still can't reproduce the Impeach break like he did on "Do The James". Paul was one talented kid
