About No More Scene (has disbanded; formerly McKnickNix)
The McKnickNix story: Too much to write about. But here goes:
Wrick and Mick are in a band together. Chic and Knick are in 3rd grade.
A bunch of time passes.
Wrick and Slashy J. Izzbourne form a Metallica tribute band, with little success. Unfortunately, Metallica had not yet formed. They were always ahead of their time.
Wrick and Slashy J. Izzbourne collaborate on an epic concept album.
Slashy J. Izzbourne triggers the fad of using "J." as a middle initial, regardless of your real middle name. Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Michael J. Fox and Elmer J. Fudd are notable followers of this cult.
It is now 1988.
Brother Mark J. Izzbourne sees Mick, who says he is in the Fatheads.
Mick's former band mate Wrick and Pyrotechnic Master Mark J. go see the Fatheads at the Bridges Cafe and the 190 East, long since closed and forgotten (the bars, not the band). They yell out the usual Get off the stage, You suck, Play something you know and the inevitable Don't tune your guitars.
The Fatheads disband, possibly because of the above heckling.
Mick wants to start another band with Fatheads Jeff J. B. and Bill J. L.
Wrick and Mick, along with Chic, form the new Fatheads with Jeff and Bill. Chic is actually on bass and Wrick on guitar for the first few practices.
Good times are had for a short while.
It is not clear if the name McKnickNix was in use at this time. Anyway, the new Fatheads disband.
Mick, Chic and Wrick need a drummer.
Knick is "recruited", meaning he is taken in broad daylight from the Square, tied up and tossed in the back of a '62 Cadillac (which Chic will own someday), taken to the future Bigg Dweeb Studios, and forced to write songs, sing and play drums.
The McKnickNix name is taken from poor memory of an old "Fridays" skit where the 3 Stooges are janitors in a recording studio, pick up instruments and are made famous by Malcolm Mick Mick Mick or something like that.
The first practice is recorded, in Bigg Dweeb Studios, and sounds so good it is released on cassette as "Who The Hell Are The Fatheads Anyway".
Knick and Chic did not know the history of the mighty Fatheads and Regular Joes.
An uproar is heard from East Windsor due to the title of the cassette.
The uproar dies down once the music is heard.
A bunch of stuff happens:
Many shows are played.
The McKnickNix get kicked out of Canada (eh?)
Many cassettes are recorded at Bigg Dweeb Studios. They are released, along with a few vinyls and compilations and the inevitable videotapes and bootlegs. Many bootlegs show up in Europe, most of them as 8-tracks and 78's. One bootlegger even does a 12" dance remix of "Mall Rat". It goes to 3 on the Singapore dance and pop charts. In retaliation, Bigg Dweeb Studios remixes Mall Rat and it goes to 1 in England, France, Italy and Japan, oh, and Singapore too.
The McKnickNix disband in 1991, with a few reunion shows after.
Some more time passes.
Knick and Wrick record some stuff for fun, not at Bigg Dweeb Studios but at Club Knick. Wrick even sings "Headbanger's Balls". These recordings were thought to have been destroyed (with good reason) but somehow end up on the internet. Due to his track record, Wrick is blamed as usual, but this time he has nothing to do with it. It turns out that Knick had buried the tapes in his backyard instead of burning them, unfortunately near the septic tank. He sold his house, and the new owner had septic problems, and when they dug up the tank, the crew found the tapes and uploaded them for the world to hear.
The McKnickNix record some stuff for fun, not at Bigg Dweeb Studios but at Club Knick.
Knick makes a new year's resolution to finish mixing this fun stuff.
Mick puts down vocals and it sounds good.
The McKnickNix talk about reforming and finally do it in 2008.
The new line up consists of Mick, still on vocals, Wrick, still on bass, Knick, not on drums anymore but on guitar, newcomers and longtime band mates Chum on guitar and Flank on drums. This incarnation of the McKnickNix is called "No More Scene". The name was chosen from over 200 suggestions.
The first few practices show that No More Scene is something that must be pursued. Due to the band being a bunch of comedians, it takes 6 hours to practice 10 songs once. All other time is spent laughing at each other's jokes and drinking Red Bull. Future practices are more productive.
Bigg Dweeb Studios is mothballed in November of 2008. Equipment will soon appear on Craigslist and eBay, and will be signed by the appropriate artists and engineers. Notable items include:
*The mike stand that Chic used to record Mick's vocals
*The chain of 14 digital delays used on nearly all of the Cabbage Night Orchestra recordings
*Wrick's bass cabinet made from the cardboard shipping container of a refrigerator (speaker not included)
*Knick's conga drums which were used as floor toms
*Foam from the vocal booth
*Terror left behind by witnesses of CNO performances
*A strobe light
*42 cables which do not work for various reasons
*The hockey helmet, includes polish and buffing pad
*A bunch of dead Schiz Sticks
*Half a bottle of Finister Speed Metal Polish - "for the fastest strings in the universe"
*The skunk which visited us during practice once
*Most of the memories of the Bridge's Cafe, which will be sold as a group and not separated
You're selling the foam from the vocal booth? DIBS!!! The first time I ever hallucinated was the day we opened a gallon of adhesive, shut the closet door, and stuck that sh*t on the walls. I never knew sound-proofing could be so much fun!

That cat could be a cheeseburger - if you stop being lazy and play my favorite song again. I'll give you a hint: the flat cat below starred in the video.
I don't know what's weirder, the fact that the band is back together or that I missed the first gig because I was at a Winger show with Greg Brady. (I can't believe I just admitted that publicly.) I did see the 3 minute video and despite the feedback, you still sounded better than the untalented Kip.
Thanks for the add... Like our profile said, we have a TV show (Media Factory Show) in northern Connecticut. If you have any promo/home videos to send out, we'd love to air them on our show.
