About me:
Sometimes traditional, sometimes on the edge, sometimes risky, the McLean County Arts Center avails itself to vast variety of tastes but with a common thread: Brilliance.
We are located in the middle of Illinois, in downtown Bloomington, in a county that distinguishes itself with exceptional fine arts.
The Arts Center encourages and promotes the appreciation, study, cultivation, development and practice of the arts. It presents gallery exhibits but also conduct classes for children, youth and adults. It in community outreach and organizes the Sugar Creek Arts Festival.
The McLean County Arts Center is at the intersection of East Street and Mulberry Street on the northeast edge of downtown. It is across from the Bloomington Center of the Performing Arts and is one of the primary institutions within the Cultural District.
The Arts Center is the major community exhibition center for visual arts. In presenting a dozen exhibits a year, the center showcases some of the immensely talented area artists, but it also looks outside the area in selecting exhibits.
It also avails itself as a place for art purchases and sales, particularly with its Holiday Treasures show, which opens in November.
