Jon Chapple of bass (and occasional vocals) fame is an equation waiting for a bracket. At weekends he can often be found on some mountain or other, running around and screaming. Jon likes nothing better than learning words and using them in conversations to aid meaning and understanding.
Vocalist and guitarist Andy Falkous likes to spend his time boobytrapping bandanas in the vain hope of snaring a member of Guns n Roses for the purposes of scientific research. His ideal job would be paid.
Drums are provided by Jack Egglestone, who likes buying oranges and bananas.
Chapple has departed to concentrate on his other band Shooting At Unarmed Men.
(we're lazy so we just pasted this from our section of too pure's site)
mclusky are a band of three. you could call them a punk band but they'd just shrug and mutter something about 'the distortion of punks original ideals etc.', so it's probably not worth the effort. you could call them a rock band but the spandex count is minimal and all of them own their own cocks.
andy (vocals, guitar) and mat (drums) met dressed as miners at the Blackwood Miners Institute, when they were ejected for simultaneously questioning the thinking behind the venues dresscode. bassplayer jon soon followed after a tent-pissing incident at the reading festival.
mclusky's first album, 'my pain and sadness is more sad and painful than yours' was released on 27th november 2000 on the fuzzbox label, and so far has sold enough copies to stop everybody involved killing themselves* - a version for the american market is still in the planning stages, with all the british cultural references set to be changed to 'rod steiger'**. 'my pain...' contained the critically lauded singles 'joy' and 'rice is nice', and was received with almost universal praise by all except for bon jovi fans.
mclusky's second album, their first for too pure, 'mclusky do dallas', has recently been completed with the help of steve albini in chicago. taking their inspiration from playing fucking music, mclusky have managed to fashion an album containing nothing but.
a single 'whoyouknow' was released on the boobytrap label in august last year, and was followed in november by their debut release on too pure 'lightsabre cocksucking blues' (available on 7" only). people liked it enough it made them want to release another single, "to hell with good intentions" before the album (released early april 2002).
...no animals were harmed during the making of mclusky
third album "the difference between you and me is that i'm not on fire" is out now
