Elaine and Scott started singing together in 1993, when Scott invited her to try out for his new band. The band easterday also featured Jon Niccum on bass and Mark Acuff on drums. They performed locally and regionally from 1993-1995. Everyone moved on to do other projects, although Elaine and Scott still have been getting together to sing from time to time. Easterday had recorded songs for a CD that was never released until band members decided in 2004 to get that thing done, and celebrated with a fabulous CD release party. Elaine and Scott enjoyed singing together and decided to continue as an acoustic duet, performing at parties and small venues around the Kansas City area. Their tag line Ball Hog and Tug Boat comes from the album title by legendary bass player Mike Watt, who commented that (paraphrasing) working with other musicians is like a ball hog and tug boat - sometimes you're the ball hog in the lead, sometimes you're the tug boat that pulls it along, both forces being equally viable. That's Elaine and Scott.
