For Films lately it has been Roots, The Freshest Kids and Freestyle that I can watch over and overTelevision
For TV I grew up watching Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels, Happy Days (was in love with The Fonz), with my little brother it was all about The Incredible Hulk (we make a killer team), The Electric Company, Sesame Street and Mr.Rogers that was BACK IN THE DAY though, don't do tv much nowadays....Books
For books I get deep again: Motherpeace by Vicki Noble, Maps to Ecstasy and Sweat Your Prayers by Gabrielle Roth on the New Age tip, I am Woman by Lee Maracle, A Really Good Brown Girl by Marilyn Dumont, Stolen Life by Rudy Weibe and Yvonne Johnson on the heavy Native tip and so much moreHeroes
My Heroes are Real My Father Brian Smith R.I.P. for doing his best and inspiring my present work My Mother Catherine Smith Mackenzie for holdin it down since he left My Brother Kurtis Smith for saving me over and over All the Elders from Alberta and all over the world I would say that all Native Women authors are my heroes, especially the ones I've read so far, them being: Louise Halfe, Lee Maracle, Yvonne Johnson and Marilyn Dumont All the Strongest Warriors, Chuck D and Krs-One of course, The Rock Steady Crew esp: Crazy Legs, PopMasterFabel and Mr.Wiggles. Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli and Mos Def Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill I am missing so many....if we don't respect those who are paving the way for us then we are missing the point ....
