MZRE began MCing in high school as part of the foursome named Killa Coast. After leaving high school, MZRE, noted producer Adeez Alavantè, Rayze (MC) and DJ Blaze caught the eye of South Auckland hip hop powerhouse, Dawn Raid. They signed to Dawn Raid as K.A.O.S. going on to perform to a growing fanbase around Auckland including coveted spots at Aotearoa Hip Hop Summits and Big Day Outs. Under the Dawn Raid umbrella, they released two singles and two videos.MZREs flow and renowned ability to have a crowd eating out of the palm of his hand soon came to the attention of DJ Sir-Vere and he was asked to record a freestyle for Major Flavours 2 (NZ). Sir-Vere was so impressed he began to invite MZRE to be a part of the Major Flavours live performances along with Ali, DJ Shan and MCs Scribe, Savage, Mareko and J1 among other.This early relationship has built into a successful seven year partnership. DJ Sir-Vere is notorious for stating he now wont perform without my right hand man. MZRE has that extraordinary ability to read a crowd and get a party started with his energetic style. Recently performing as a lead member of Kartel, best known for their single Pretty Eyes, which hit number one on local radio stations as well as gleaning a lot of airtime.
Most recently, MZRE has teamed back up with ATP (Beat Kamp Muzik) as the Sirpreme Team, an independent crew that released their first mixtape in October 2005 to rave reviews with plans to release their debut album in 2008. Now as an integral part of Sir-vere's live shows, the team continue to dominate with their appearances throughout Australia.
Keep an ear out for New Zealands premiere hype man, MC MZRE, as he embarks on his highly anticipated solo projects and continues to storm stages throughout both countries with DJ Sir-Vere.
