I'd have to say my biggest influence is life , Cause life mimics art . Or is it art imitates life ? What ever it is , art is my life. When it comes to music Soul is one of my favorite genres, along with Funk , classic rock and fussion jazz. My favorite producer is considered the best by all top producer's. Jay Dilla, hands down, Better yet get ur hand's up! Nuff said.
It all started with an SP 303....Then came the yamaha DD-7, which has the most garbage drum sound I ever heard in my life, But it's a start. Then my boy Galaxy bought a used MPC 2000.....From there on out it was over. Back then it was me , 5ill , and Galaxy makin beats to bust raps.......Around 2003 I moved in with my good friend Antwon, Gnosis, who had the first Mpc 1000 I ever laid my hands on.....We then formed a little crew by the name of ONEMIND....Around 2006 Gerret Leonhardt, Long time friend, got an MPC 1000.......At this time I was still a full blown raper, not for long though. By 2008 I was so into the production of hip hop that I forgot I even raped.....Not really, but its always fun to catch people off guard that only know me as a producer. I still rap like a Mafk!
I'm currently workin with artist such as Street Justice, Galaxy, Blac suun, Mark Byrd,YC and the rest of the DrumAddicts ,Young Miles. and hopefully a few others that I can't name at the moment.
I'm a big fan of the Detroit Hip Hop, I feel its the future of rap. Shit is so tired right now......And we need a change......I'd like to work with any and all Detroit artist....Even though I make sample beats ,Thats not to say I can't slam some key's. I'm open for all types of music.
J dilla was prolly my biggest influence of bein a producer. Can't forget about P.R. Primo and the alchemist. MF DOOM too..Damn and Mad lib, But thats on some far out shyt.
I live in Plymouth at this time....And have lived in and all over wayne county my whole life.
Lets do work!
