John Powell has been my biggest influence. I was also influenced by, Moby, J.S. Batch, Dc Talk, F. List, Coldplay, Jars of Clay, Danny Elfman, Eric Barfield.
Hi, I'm Christian Barfield and I'm the lead singer for Watching Judas. I have always loved composing but my style dosn't fit the sound that we're looking for in Watching Judas. All of the music on this page is written, arranged and mixed by me. My music is mostly written for sound traks. As a kid I hated, I repeat I HATED piano lessons. Today I'm very happy I stuck with them. I used to spend hours playing the piano trying to work out composition, but it was always frustrating because I wasn't technically good enough to play what I knew the song was supposed to sound like. Then things changed, it no longer mattered that I wasn't the next Andre Watts. I got a computer, a beautifull iMac named Toby. And I could finally record what I heard and not have to try to play it all. And that's how I got started.

Well im glad your excited. Yes College has started. I've been in for a good 3 weeks in. I absolutely love it. And I can start substitute teaching too. OH and I think I've mentioned this before but my sophmore recital is April 29th at 730pm in hillsboro. It would totally be awesome if you guys came. But I understand its a drive too. But it would still be really cool if you came. How's your brother doing? Its been a while since I've talked to him. And he didnt respond to my emails. so I just thought I'd ask. Always, Katie
Wow a pretend concert! I dont think i've ever had one of those. But if you think about it its just not as good as having the real thing. lol. OH and I would love to take a 4 hour road trip i just cant afford it. I dont see you being cold hearted at all! like not even in a sybling type of arguement. Everything here is same ole same ole. More boring than most people think. lol. Not really im too busy to notice or do anything else. But wat about you. Smiles, Katie
Hey it was good to see you guys again too. I still dont know what im gonna do at the end of this week. lol. Oh and by the way you guys were awesome. And I never freeze im too warm hearted.:D Katie ps tell Eric, Aaron, and Paul I said 'allo.
Hey thanks! yeah I haven't seen you since you guys came to Columbia for a gig. But I got to see Hannah yesterday since I was in St.Charles. How is everything with the band?
I write marching band shows. It's a wierd way to start a comment but it's true. I was wondering if you would be interested in trying out some things on that track "alone". I can't hear but the start up to an intense show. Just that build up compliments a swell and a lay-over for suspense and rising into a battery type of situation. I don't know if you understand what I'm talking about but I'd totally love to turn "Alone" into a marching band show. So one day I can write out the entire score and sell it. It's about 2 years down the road I think but I'd totally love to work with you on it. Let me know what you think. I'd never take it out of your hands though. It's yours I don't want to take credit for it. But "alone" is a very cool melody which screams "SHOW CONCEPT". Get back to me and let me know.
Oh my god. I'm in school till the 29th...it sucks!!! I just want it to be over!!! Finals are so...ugh...there is no word for them! Hope everything is better for you!
