Born and raised in Calgary, Canada, Mitchell Claxton is the next Canadian to burst onto the trance scene. After growing up with mainstream music, Mitchell had already begun to show signs of his preference of dance music after he noticed artists like Darude, Daft Punk and Dirty Vegas playing on the radio and quickly favoriting them.
After years of disinterest in most music, Mitchell was introduced to Trance in 2004 by his sister. Right then he was hooked and before he could think about it, he started producing in Spring of 2006 and got his first pair of turntables in August 2006.
After nearly 3 years of improving his sound and his DJing skills through the advice and guidance of various internet friends that he met on the Anjunabeats Forum, Mitchell has had mixes played on Sense.fm (last set of the year on NYE 2007) and Tranceradio.ch. In January of 2009, Mitchell signed his first progressive trance release to Ora Recordings.
In 2009, Mitchell's producing tastes started to shift towards more harder tech trance and uplifting trance. His solo work has been recognized by labels such as Proxoz Recordings and, more recently in November 2009, Claudia Cazacu's label Couture Records, both of which have signed him for releases in early 2010. His work has also received very positive comments from some well respected artists on labels such as Discover, Vandit, Conspiracy, Alter Ego, Enhanced and more!
When Mitchell is not working solo, he is probably working in his collab with Ryan Mendoza under the alias 'Breakthrough'. This refreshing collab combining Tech trance and Uplifting trance has created a remix that has been accepted by Enhanced Recordings for Digital Society Recordings and Breakthrough have alot more to bring to the table with in progress original productions.
In addition to his producing and DJing exploits, Mitchell also writes reviews for labels such as Dark Bird Recordings, Red Force Recordings, and Couture and is an unofficial member of the Trance.nu reviewing staff.
Mitchell and Ryan have also begun a radio show on sense.fm entitled 'Tragic Tales' which airs every first and third sunday of the month at 2:00 PM CST
