Tiara: It is my goal in life to be a composite musician with the following attributes: the lyrical talent of Jonathan Larson and Chris Carraba, the musical grace of Connor Oberst, Matt Caplan, and the Ataris, and the voice of Fall Out Boy. If I could be that sort of musician, I would be the most content one on the planet.
Adriann: Hmmm... Jewel -- first and foremost. She taught me how to play guitar. Tori Amos, John Denver (and all of those singer/songwriters from the 60's and 70's. Man, their music MEANT something!), Danny Elfman, Evanescence (the Ban Moody years, before AmyLee fell in love with herself), Matt Caplan, Michael Jackson (you know it!), Moby, Yoko Kanno, Smashing Pumpkins and the entire Garden State Soundtrack ^~

FOMO. The fomo revolution is upon us, and M&M are leading the way.
Fomo (folk + emo) influences are listed above, but the sound we've created is all our own. We may occassionally sound like Ani Difranco (though one member is making a conscious effort not to), Patty Griffin, or Jewel, but we've also taken aspects of Bright Eyes, Dashboard Confessional, and Rocking Horse Winner.

You may be asking yourself, "where the heck did Me and Mildred Against the World" come up with that kick-ass name? Weeeeell, it all begins on a dark and stormy night....
Tiara and her college roommate, Michelle, were sitting in their dormroom playing Snood. As usual, they were ignoring their homework, because Snood is all-powerful and incorporates mind control to keep you from doing anything but playing Snood, dreaming of Snood, and thinking of ways (during class) to bounce Snoods off your professor's head. Anyway, Michelle said, "I really love Mildred", and Tiara, not knowing, asked, "Which one of the Snoods is Mildred?" Michelle explained that Mildred is the (ugly) grey, triangulary one that makes a fish face. Tiara said, "I really don't like Mildred", to which Michelle replied, "Fine! Then it's me and Mildred against the world!"
Thus, a legend was born.
