Me and the Grownups have been together since November 2006. We launched our first album, Battling the Mountains, the Sky and the Sea in February 2008, and it will be distributed by Planet/MGM from July. Our backgrounds are diverse – Anita has her roots in singer-songwriting and traditional folk, Adrian is a jazz guitarist and Dreyfus was once a classical violinist and composer. Despite these differences, we are very close, and share an amazingly similar musical vision.

What the critics are saying...
As indie surprise of the year, this will be tough to beat. Jesse Shrock Beat Magazine
The Grownups’ debut LP is one of those rare gems that reveal so much more with every rotation…a record that cannot, in fact, be compared. Julia Winterflood BMA Magazine
Breathtaking, surprising, intelligent and soulful. Adjectives abound! Jason Kenny Drum Media Perth
This is no rock’n’roll, guitar/bass/drums trio, that’s for sure - in fact, they may have already achieved their aim after only a year or so of existence, of creating their own genre, their own niche... Its power to draw you in is what makes it stand up, as it’s not really my cup of tea, and yet I couldn’t not listen to the end.

Whatever genre you call them, Me and the Grownups have an amazing sensibility for music as art. Bronia Kornhauser AJN Melbourne
Full of endearingly heart-on-your-sleeve tracks. Matthew Heath Canberra Times
Intelligent fun. Rohan Trollope The Age EG
Battling the Mountains... is a masterwork, a record of such penetrating emotion and beauty that its very existence [as a debut] is improbable... Gideon Stone SputnikMusic.com
Beauty, as Me and the Grownups perceive it, is the core value, even if that beauty can seem darkly uncomfortable. The rest is the sound, image and dreams of human frailty weaving together. Michael Smith Drum Media
