Me and the Moroccan started in early 2002 in Lawrence, KS, as a spare time collaboration between Peter Berard (Domino Records) and myself (Fadil Elmansour) and, later on, with Mark Sanders (Minus Story), and even LATER on with Nick Knutsen (Salt the Earth) as guitar duets ... All were short lived but extremely inspiring, and I ever since been trying to conserve and expand on - at least - the spirit in the music we made, if not some actual songs. In the meantime, I've taken the time to teach myself to play cello and accordion in order to give more depth to the music and spare anyone from hearing the worst instrument ever: my voice. The music keeps on evolving, sometimes against my will, which makes it a bit of pain in the ass to work on these songs, and even more painful to create a live performance out of it. It increasingly looks like i'll have to hire my own orchestra and learn to write sheet music all over again... i'm thinking next time i'll have someone else write this section for me...
I'll be glad to mail you a copy of the first EP upon request.
Many thanks to: all 3 aforementioned people, Adam Crawford (ex - Alibi 6 Studios) for the Knob Creek fueled studio sessions and the recording tips; my friends who know who they are, all those who have asked for a CD, encouraged me and supported me any which way.
When I don't make music, i'm usually behind the lens
Cheers
Hello, thanks for the comment. Great to listen your music. Beautiful guitar sounds. I like too the voices record mixed with your music. Have a very good day. Julien
Thank you for adding me as a friend. I really like the atmospheres you guys create in your music. Hope to hear some more from you soon. Good luck with everything.
and here's another thing: do you remember when i was obsessed with that slugsex video, and every time i watched it, i felt happier and happier? i have found a contender. it is on my page. dancing colors. goooooooooooooood.
dylan probably doesn't know that i am frightened of small, skittery animals. perhaps he will have a good laugh when i tell him that i saw the word "whistlepig" on your comment wall and giggled for a good few minutes, nervously teetering on the brink of a horrible anxiety attack. did you know that another word for whistlepig is 'marmot'? still pretty scary, but it's a pretty fun word to say.
