  SLURRED VISION – 7” ‘s of Slurrtality                                                                                 Nine new songs of twin cities hardcore punk on one 7”.  A variety of styles from spazz swing to bluesy riffs to straight up four chords and distortion.  Early Dischord vibes fuel Midwest new cuts.  Classic songs about getting high and drunk till you pass out.  Mixed in with songs about being environmentally friendly and looking for answers to the questions that you have and not to just believe everything the media, your parents the government, history books society in general has been cramming down your throats all our life.  On 100% recycled color vinyl.  Awesome cover art, full colored theme package and interior lyrics with photos.  DR-016 GOODMORNING / PSYKOTIC KENESIS- split 7”                                                                   Psykotic Kinesis has an anarchist crust leaning, but is not your run-of-the-mill crust band.  The bass seems to be the main instrument that is prominent on a lot of the tracks.  They also throw in some violin.  The main vocals are female yells.  It took a few listens for me to get into their tracks but I did.  GoodMorning has, for a lack of a better to put it, a refreshing sound.  It’s a nice combination of 80’s West Coast hardcore, keyboards and some vague anarchist metal.  Yeah, read that one again-the sound is unique.  There are three vocal styles often going on at the same time, an understandable 80’s hardcore bark, death metal growls, and scary troll-like black metal vocals.  Keyboards are prominent but in a dark, black metal sort of way.  I haven’t heard anything like this and I think they pull it off. (MH) Maximum Rock and Roll Jan. 2010    DR-012          SNOT CUM POOP-  piss blood puss ep:                                                                                         A variety of characters hail from all corners of Minnesota to make up this diverse group.  Always a blast when you’re hanging out with this crew.  Songs about hard times, party addictions, having to drive from Mn to Wi on Sun. to buy more booze, along with a comical gingle about wilderness being wild.  Catchy songs that get stuck in your head blended with an attack of different vocal approaches.  Street punk guitar licks with heavy drumming twisted together with hardcore pop progression. Nice lyric sheet and layout accompany this cdr collectors demo. DR-015 GOODMORNING- Iconoclasm 7”                                                                                           Classic record from this legendary Wino PunX band.  Brutal Backwoods Crust Spitting Political vokill Venom.  Songs with male and female vocals.   Screaming about how Christopher Columbus was a rapist murder and thieve to pro-feminist songs like Survival.  Filled with rage tracks about border issues and school shootings.  Brake downs about selling out, animal cruelty and political corruption.  This is a timeless record with a positive outlook on the world.  Offering situations alternatives to the problems we are faced with.   Using revolutionary ideas as active solutions for daily encounters.
