About me:

MECA is a huge car audio sports club. We are supported by our Competitor members, our Retail members, and our Manufacturer members. MECA CAR AUDIO OFFICIAL WEBSITE I started MECA with Brad Eubank here in Tennessee in 1999. Competitor and industry disatisfaction with existing car audio sports organizations prompted us to try to create a new one, based on our ideas about fair sound quality and sound pressure contests. We had no idea that MECA would become so popular. And, we had no idea that the people in MECA would bond and come together at our events, becoming friends and creating our own kind of lifestyle fun "car stereo parties". That's what it all boils down to: no matter where the MECA Judges are working, our primary goals are the most fun and most fair contests at our "car stereo parties". Competitor members are the heart and soul of the club. These enthusiasts, beginners and professionals and everyone in-between, come together for our fair and fun Sound Pressure League and Sound Quality League, Boom & Zoom, Ride the Light, and MECA Kids contests. The Competitors use the Rule Book as the guide for setting up their systems. They decide whether they want a loud ground pounding bass system or an incredible rolling "studio on wheels" in their vehicles, or a combination of both. Serious Competitors get serious about building high performance systems for the contests. MECA Competitors, in general, display a high degree of sportsmanship and pride in their part in the club. We need that, and we love that! We have 100+ Retail members in the USA. We never thought that would happen either. We are a trade association for 12-Volt Industry professionals who like to promote their business's with MECA contests. Almost all those who were in MECA last year are in again this year, and with new members being added this year, they are working and planning to host and promote car audio sports events, or Sound-off's or Crank It Up's, in their areas in 2007. The Competitor members appreciate the Retail members who host and help sponsor the awards at the events.
