Mecca G aka Mec Mobley, has spent many years hustlin’ on the streets of Chicago. So much so that incarcerations, baby mamas, and just the drama of the hood have been a major factor in the stagnant state of the career of such a naturally gifted emcee. Mecca has been developing his voice after announcing his plans to pursue R&B music as well as his longtime love, Hip-Hop. He has performed at a multitude of venues in the Chicago land area including US Beer Company, Ontourage Night Club, Bar Vertigo, Blue Note & The Mix. He has also performed at Bill's Blues in Evanston & has been featured on Channel 19’s “The Mo Show”, CQTV, the "Enterprise" Mixtape series, and is busy preparing his debut LP for release in 2009.
Mecca is a very creative and versatile lyricist with a never-miss commercial sound that appeals to today’s mainstream audience, yet somehow he is able to give the fans what they want while keepin’ it real with himself and making the type of music that actually reflects his life coming up in the streets. He has the unique ability to create a hook for almost any song & his quick tongued lyrics will allow him to collaborate with any artist within several music genres.
