Business is War was a concept that was born from observations of a trend in which young urban entrepreneurs have begun to make waves in the corporate world. These youthful Renaissance men and women have learned to use their hustle to change the world rather than to be confined by it. This film’s writer and director, Kemal Gordon, sought to take this concept and wrap it around a coming of age story in the vein of: Stand by Me and Risky Business.
Following the inception of this creative project, the task of discovering a suitable cast became a mandate. Chris Bennett, a Boston area model and actor, was immediately chosen for the role of Dutty Sykes. At a fashion event held at John Hancock Hall featuring the Handsomeboy Clothing line, Kemal saw a featured model whose persona and carriage shouted the name, Dutty Sykes. When Mr. Bennett agreed to take on the role of Dutty Sykes, this project began to grow legs. Bennett, however, would not be the only important addition to the film. T. Whitlow & Dunstan Dubique (Handsomeboyclothing.com), Dennis “Sticks” Person, William “Big Wiz” Stevens, Linda Jean Keith, Olivia Burnett (LovelyO.net), Bay Holla, John Depew, Bill O’Malley, as well as, many other talented and dedicated actors were also added to the cast.
Kemal Gordon’s talented and diverse crew includes Jamilyn Pina, who has worked with Kemal on various music videos and commercial projects as an assistant director. This project’s sound design rests in the most capable hands of Rob Leonardo (Digitalwaverecording.com). Our art direction will be led by Colin Brennan (ColinBrennan.com) as Director of Photography, as well as, Mitch Richards who has agreed to lend the project his genius as the film’s set designer. The Business is War cast and crew continues to grow and only get better!

I really need this scholarship to help pay for my medical schooling which is very expensive as you all know now a days. This event is to benefit the Jennifer Ortiz Foundation. This foundation was founded in 2001 to commemorate the life of a young 19 year old girl who lost her battle with cancer shortly after her graduation from high school. I will be getting graded on pose, beauty and support. The more people that come to this event in behave of me I receive an extra 10points on my final grading. I deeply value education and knowledge and strive on learning, so this scholarship will truly be essential to me.
