CCM (Chicanos Latinos for Community Medicine) is an undergraduate group dedicated to the promotion and development of a communication network for pre-health students.
The purposes of the organization are the following:
- To promote academic excellence among our members.
- To promote the enrollment of Chicanos/Latinos and other underrepresented minorities at institutions of higher education.
- To increase the interest and retention of Chicanos/Latinos and other underrepresented groups in health related professions.
- To encourage and expose our membership to community service and clinical experiences.
- To promote participation in a communication network between Chicano/Latino pre-health students, medical students, and health professionals.
- To increase access of medical care in underserved communities.
Chicano/Latinos for Community Medicine, in accordance with applicable Federal and State Law, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, medical condition (including cancer related), ancestry, marital status, citizenship, and. Membership Requirements:
Active membership per quarter in CCM requires the individual to:
a. Attend at least 50% of the meetings.
b. Participate in at least two community service activities from at least TWO DIFFFERENT projects (LSHP and/or BLAIDS and/or DoT Org).
c. Attend two fundraisers.
d. Attend three academic events.
e. Or to have two participatory quarters within the same academic year.
