We are a collective of Indigenous people, no matter which side of the imaginary lines called borders we come from. Medicine Word Poets come from all Nations: Kiowa, Muscogee, Diné, Sicangu Lakota, Itazipco Lakota. We recognize the power in spoken words and share these medicine words with our community. Whether the words are angry, peaceful, anguished or humorous, we believe in the honesty of our experience. Our connections to each other, as Indigenous people, are important in maintaining our integrity and way of life.

Magdalene, Woman of Light is a rock-opera (spoken-word theatre meets musical) that weaves the story of the life of Mary Magdalene, from her birth in Egypt and early training as a high priestess, to the search for her beloved, Jesus Christ. It continues with his elevation of her as the first of his Apostles, the one he entrusts with carrying on his legacy, and the challenge this causes between Magdalene and the Apostle Peter.
I was curious if any natives in or affiliated with the medicine word poets are looking for any information on how to draw and illustrate. I am a graduate of multi media art school and am willing to share some of my knowledge of creativity on a two dimnesional plane if there is interest.
