HL: The Killing Joke was the one that was handed to me. I think it’s going to be the beginning of The Joker. I guess that book explains a little bit of where he’s from but not too much. From what I’ve gathered, there isn’t a lot of information about The Joker and it’s left that way.
The killing joke is technically a batman comic, but it is one that focuses completely on the joker, as i mentioned in the previous comment.

as far as i know the original "the joker" comics were published in 1975...
there is also the joker last laugh in 2001, joker/mask in 2000, joker showcase came out in 94, joker's asylum in the latest installment in 08 but it only has two issues.
(you should know that catwoman, harley quin and night wing and batgirl all have their own spin off comics as well as other collaborations like birds or prey - has and underworld - joker is the main character in that one without it being a joker comic.)
I'm pretty sure that the joker is also the creeper with super powers but i get confused when they go off on little side stories like that.
I am sure you were referring to the batman/joker comics like batman: the killing joke in 88 and batman villians secret files and origins in 98 and 05. these are batman comics that focus on the joker. but there are still comics like the greatest joker stories ever told in 98 that show that the joker can hold his own in the world of comics.
i think i proved i was right per the terms of the argument at casa ole. punk. don't test me. =) which was that joker had his own comics seperate of batman...
