Words of Wisdom

Of the infinite tree of possible decisions projected in the mind at any given time, we pick and choose a path, sometimes with great consideration, other times with haste. How much of this process is control, and how much is decided by external artifacts seems open to debate.

I feel hugely fortunate to have had the opportunity to do what I have done, and to meet the people I have. From the minute I saw my first track pressed on vinyl it has felt like a tumbling domino line of events which has endlessly suprised and humbled me. Drum & Bass and its contemporaries, fans and peers has had an enormous part in shaping my life, and character. If it were to all end tomorrow, I'd still be far richer for it than any other direction life could've offered me. Not something I bargained for, but once you're in, you're in - this is a lifestyle, not just a music genre.

Now I find myself part of Lifted. For me, these people I am lucky enough to group with bring me a huge amount of inspiration. In each of them I see qualities I lack and directions I hadn't considered. Despite distance we remain a unit, and whenever we get to be in one place at one time it's always a memorable event. If I've learnt anything from my experience, it's that you're a product of your environment. I owe so much of my progression to being surrounded by the right people, family included. Jake is one of these people - big ups you chav. -SPOR
