Joseph Carter and Derek Mattuchio formed MEET THE DAY in Massachusetts during the summer of 2001. The band's music offers rhythmic intensity reminiscent of The Dave Matthews Band or Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals crossed with the storytelling lyric style of Paul Simon. The band arrived on the Boston music scene in mid 2003 with several performances that quickly helped generate strong word of mouth and sold out shows. The band was signed by New England Artist Management in November 2006.
The band's debut CD, "It's About Time" was released February 2007 and sold over 1000 copies within six months. The bands CD release tour yielded numerous sold-out shows between New Hampshire, Boston and New York. Additional highlights include a three month weekend and overnight rotation on two of Boston's top rated radio station's WBOS and WBCN. The band's track "5-Years Coming" is the theme song for the "JT The Brick Show, Fox Sports in California.

Meet the Day at Harpers Ferry: "This Boston band lived up to its buoyant name with an impressive electro-acoustic set whose folk-jazz/funk-rock blend put one in mind of a young Dave Matthews Band. Tranquil interludes were woven around percussive peaks -- and the result was a band that astute record executives should think of signing."
~Steve Morse, The Boston Globe
I'm always knocked out by the charisma and good vibes Meet the Day puts forth. Here's a band with so much magnetism you can't help but be drawn in and start singing along. I think they are gonna do some big things in this biz and I look forward to watching it grow."
~Dan Millen, President of Rock On! Boston Meet the Day are dynamic and magnetic. Their hooks, chops & charm grab you like a coy smile from the girl at the end of the bar... you can't help but smile back." ~ADAM12, 104.1 WBCN Meet the Day are a very impressive band, who are building their story nicely and have in a short time garnered a great following.
~Shred, 104.1 WBCN Local Music Director/Middle East booking agent

Hi everyone! if you missed the chicken bone show you missed out on a real treat.. can't wait to see you guys there again in March!
Now for the good stuff.. i'd like to thank kenny's cousin for the audio from the Hard Rock show. I did some editing to the one long track that was provided and managed to get the 92 min show down to 80 minutes to fit on a CD, and all i did was edit out all the parts with derek talking!!
The CD has 11 tracks and one bonus track, all derek. I had to shorten the duration of the track because even the edit of the derek edit was still too long to fit on the cd so it's a little faster than it is supposed to be but it is good comic relief.. I guess it should be titled from the cutting room floor.
I will be giving a copy to Matty later today when I see him..
