About me:
I'm a designer, artist, business owner and wife. I co-own an art gallery and bookshop called Amble Gallery & Books (amblegallery.com) in Northern Liberties. I also own and run a creative design projects company called Metatative (metatative.com).
I deal with kidney problems everyday. I had a kidney transplant in February 2004 because my kidneys failed due to Lupus in 2002. I've had a lot of struggles health wise and continue to fight quite a bit. I'm back on dialysis now until I can get another transplant, which I hope to do as soon as I can of course. My most recent fight is with a rare bacterial infection that I've had for about a year now, if not longer, which has kept me pretty sick up until lately when they have finally figured out more of what's wrong. So I'm finally feeling better and feel like I can come back to the world which I have felt out of for quite sometime now.
I'm a grad student in a program called TransArt pursuing my Masters in New Media. This calls for me to spend 3 weeks in Austria each summer as part of my residency requirement. Unfortuantly I've only attended one so far when technically I would have graduated by now if I had not missed a lot due to being sick. Throughout the year I do art projects on my own with the assistence of a mentor I select myself. My current/recent studies focus on webcam surveilance, self documentation, online identity, social networks, visual mapping, interactive experience, and technology dependence.
Some of my other side projects include Sticky Art (stickyart.net) and Nerds (stickernerds.com) which you should of course check out if you don't already know me well enough to know about them.
I live on South Street with my wonderful husband Dan (we just celebrated our 1 year anniversery in June) and our three cats Hobbes, Callie, and Isis.
