Mike Redina has always had an ear for music, inspired by UK masters like The Prodigy, Orbital and Underworld. His sets and influences cover a huge range of genres and styles, from funky and progressive to fast and hard. But his sound has its roots deep in the techno groove. Other influences include DJs such as Marco V, Valentino Kanzyani, Tiefschwarz and Luke Dzierzek to name just a few. Mike shows his skills as a DJ in his capacity to not only incorporate diverse genres and styles, but to transcend them by infusing the music with his own unique style. Having started playing in 1996 on London's infamous techno squat party scene. Club dates followed, and since then he's played in London, Greece and then Brazil where he stayed for over a year in 2001. He was lucky enough to be invited back in 2005 where he joined one of the most influential DJ agencies in Brazil. With everythign in place & The Nrgflow collective and Museum of Techno it led to an incredible seven month tour around South America, playing at fashion shows, radio stations, raves and clubs like Manga Rosa, D Edge, Lov.e and Mundo Mix to name but a few. He has also taken part in many of the best events and nights including Moving (D-edge), Manga Rosa 10th Anniversary, Nud Club Special edition, Substancia (Lov.e for friends), Mundo Mix (Electronic Generation), Lounge Magazine and Energia FM (SP).
Since his return to London 2006 has kicked off with a flying start to the year. Having Joined forces with Never Enough Events and
Antiworld we have seen Mike grace the decks at events such as Innovate 2006, HHA vrs HQ, Antiworld Psychedelic Academy 003,
Totaly twisted vrs Never enough, Logic & Antiworld and many more.
Recently Mike's love of music has taken him into the studio with producers from London collective Nrgflow, and Museum of Techno. With his first release already on sale and three more releases already planned things are looking good for 2006. Two are hard-edged, electro/tech collabarations with Dave "Memoid" Pape, scheduled for winter release on Museum Of... Recordings.
Mike is finishing 2006 in sunny Brasil where he has been touring for the last 3 months. Look out for his return to Europe early in Jan 2007.
