You know what I love about this video taped at 7:00 AM in the morning! The fun it represents at being up all night, rehearsing, working hard and then just being yourself, laughing and having a great time!

This band was formed originally in 1998 with the direction of Brian Paul, rock guitarist, a native of Toronto's far west, after having been involved with many musical projects and who had released five albums under various monikers prior to meeting Martin Ouellette. Ouellette had sung with symphonies and bar bands and had worked in both acting and writing. Varied name and personnel changes were shortly to follow.
In 2000, this duo became a triumvirate with the addition of Nic Vurro, another Toronto native, this time from the far east, and another veteran of the local rock scene as both a lead guitarist and as a bass player; he had also written and recorded soundtrack material for several films. Traditionally-trained drummer Glenn Neath landed shortly afterwards. Neath, who is also from eastern Toronto, played in a slew of bands throughout the mega-city before finally joining forces with Tenth Planet in 2002.
Tenth Planet have currently completed their first full-length, yet untitled album with Ex-Tea Party Frontman Jeff Martin. Two weeks this past Spring were spent with Martin at Toronto's Orange Lounge Studios. Martin, who recorded the band's last critically acclaimed EP, The Prophet Curse, takes full
production credits on the new album, as well as co-writing the first release from the album "Line in the Sand."
From personal experience, to hear this band live is something you won't forget. I attended their show at The Bovine recently and it was nothing short of mesmerizing. The originality of their music, energy, lyrics and melody mixed with dark rock was brilliant. There was an underlying current of electricity to their music and I envisioned much larger venues in the future. Oulette's vocals are powerhouse and blew me away, his range versatile, softer when required, but also able to light The Bovine on fire with bright surges of emotional intensity and energy.

Sebastian Bach (Top Friends) with "By Your Side" a song dedicated to his father who passed away. This song really touches me especially after I saw and heard him live and singing it with many of his family members around me just after his step-mom passed away too. The tears flowed from many in the audience but he sang it beautifully. This song is on his new CD called "Angel Down". He has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard and originally started out in Toronto, but now lives in New Jersey when he's not touring. He's someone who followed his dreams in music despite many telling him not to and has also appeared on Broadway many times and on television. Love ya Baz, always will! Go out and buy "Angel Down", its an excellent album, getting rave reviews.
If you are new to the music industry, do it like Baz did, ignore the people that tell you that you can't do it and follow your dreams, it won't come to you though, you have to make it happen...
ABOUT MEG-A MUSIC TORONTO
MEG-A MUSIC TORONTO has been created by Mary-Elizabeth Gilbert, someone who LOVES music. I have taken up songwriting and I am beginning to work on a debut CD. As any musician knows, this is no easy task, there are many steps to the process and it won't happen overnight. I thought as I learned the process, I would share it with others too.
Just after joining MySpace in 2006 to support the band of a friend of mine, I discovered a whole new world of music I never knew about and fell in love with so many bands and people in such a short time. There is so much talent out here that you never hear about, in particular Indie Bands. Already I have heard so many new and existing artists that I love and discover more each day. I am truly amazed with the music being showcased on MySpace.
The idea of MEG-A MUSIC TORONTO is to promote Indie bands either playing in Toronto or the Toronto area. Whether you are a musician located right here in Toronto or coming to Toronto or the surrounding area to play, I want to know about it. Promote your music right here. Leave a comment and guide someone to your music today. I also like to promote Canadian independent music in general, so come on in and lets have some fun!

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
Put together the first music video for one of the songs, that being for the song "Eel Marsh House", which is based on the movie "The Woman In Black". Wasn't sure to name it that instead of 'Eel Marsh..." ...Eel Marsh House being where the woman in black 'lived', and now haunts it. Though, she seems to haunt the general area of the village as well as the House. If anyone catches her gaze, looks into her eyes....a child will die, usually from the family of the person unfortunate to look at her. As you see what happens to the story's main character at the end.
