Megan Bobo’s performing career started in her native city, Des Moines, Iowa. As a baby model, Megan’s picture was featured on every bus in Des Moines. Thereafter, Megan’s desire to entertain people only blossomed. From infancy through high school, Megan’s love of singing was displayed in musicals, school choir, and various community events throughout the Midwest.
After graduating high school, Megan Bobo went on to sing at the University of Iowa as a member of OLD GOLD SINGERS. In 2004, Megan was selected to tour with the performing/cultural group, UP WITH PEOPLE. For 5 months, she traveled as a featured soloist and performed at political events, corporate events, and community events in over 19 cities, 8 countries, and 3 continents of the world. Major opportunities while traveling included: Singing for Toyota Motors’s CEO , Dr. Toyoda, in Tokyo, Japan and recording the song "One to One" with a popular German recording artist in Kern, Germany.
In 2005, Megan auditioned for the 5th Season of AMERICAN IDOL. Along with her sister, Megan flew to Denver, Colorado, and waited in line with 10,000 other AI hopefuls. Megan progressed from round to round and advanced to the final rounds in Hollywood. Out of the 200,000 people who auditioned throughout the nation that season for AMERICAN IDOL, Megan made it into the TOP 40. In the end, it came down to Kinnik Sky and Megan Bobo for the 24th spot on the show. During a heartwrenching moment, Kinnik Sky was chosen. However, Megan did not treat the moment as a defeat. Megan’s success on AMERICAN IDOL encouraged her to put law school on hold and move to Los Angeles and pursue her dream of music!
Two years now living in Los Angeles, Megan is pursuing both singing and acting. In that time, Megan has obtained a commercial/print agent, auditioned for national musical tours, performed in live venues, and recorded with various bands and producers.
On the demo, Megan wrote and co-produced all three songs: Wild Out Tonight, Chasing Love, and My Incredible One. She continues to write, record, and perform in both Los Angeles and her native Iowa.
Though her career is young, Megan has already garnered the reputation of a performer with presence, passion, soul, and talent. Look forward to more music and performances from Megan Bobo!
