In July 2002, she made her debut with the song ”Scanty Blues”, co-produced by Yasuyuki Okamura. Besides writing her own songs, MEG has released covers of Yasuyuki Okamura, Milton Nascimento, and Flipperﾕs Guitar.
In her remix album "mgrmx", which featured many foreign DJs, she collaborated with well-known DJ, Theo Parrish. This was the first time Theo had collaborated with a Japanese artist. A double LP with the same title was released throughout Europe. The following year, she performed as a guest vocalist at the biggest indoor live concert in Japan, WIRE05, held at Yokohama Arena.
In January 2006, she changed her name from "meg" to "MEG".
She is the producer of various caf市 as well as the designer of "CAROLINA GLASER", her highly-appraised clothing brand, which has repeatedly been featured in magazines such as "SO-EN". Besides opening an independent store in Harajuku, she has introduced a men's clothing line as well as a cosmetic brand.
In spite of not widely promoting her brands on television programs or commercials, they always rank top in popularity rankings and make the covers of fashion magazines. MEG is expanding the range of her activities underground as a fashion director.
MEG's album "aquaberry" was wholly-produced by i-dep (Hiroshi Nakamura) and ranked 1 on the iTunes Music Store Pop Album chart. Her single "Amai Zeitaku" co-produced by Yasutaka Nakata, ranked 1 on the Electronic Music chart. She was also the first Japanese artist to have an avatar live in "Second Life", the 3-D virtual world on the Internet.
When promoting "OK", her first single after transferring to a major record label, her posters put up in Harajuku were stolen one after another. This incident caught the attention of the media and was widely covered in magazine shows and the news.
As soon as MEG's album "BEAM" was released, it ranked 1 in several foreign record stores, including Tower Records Shibuya's overall chart of national/international records. Her latest single "HEART" ranked 1 on the video chart of national/international records. On the day her newest album "STEP" was released on June 18, 2008, it ranked 5th on the Oricon chart. She achieved the 1 spot in the iTunes Music Store with two consecutive albums.
Her live performances draw huge crowds as well.
Over 500 fans flocked the city of Harajuku in order to get limited tickets for MEG's first solo show.
She performed at "Summer Sonic 08" and "Summer Sonic 09".
