Jean-Marc LERIGAB Aka " Mejay ", born in Paris and of west indies origin, grows in a family of four children in a Parisian suburb where he discovers the music at the age of eleven on an old piano “Gaveau” in the lounge of their apartment. He works the instrument by trying to reproduce all that he hears on the radio or on TV, he acquires then a sense of the melody and the composition and then begins to record on a tape recorder, his first songs. At the age of sixteen, he’s in demand to play in his church beside a young small fourteen-years old drummer, his cousin WELCOME CHARLES. They form in the time a duet almost inseparable “drums/keyboards” and jam a lot together with many young musicians. At the age of eighteen, he founds his first group " FAX 7 ", formed by seven musicians and singers in which he will play original compositions going of funk to jazz/rock to pop. After six years of existence and several tours, the group records its first album : "Question mark". Meanwhile, Jean-Marc discovers in Paris, the Gospel choir of Master Music, known today under the name of " NEW GOSPEL FAMILY ", in which he will be in demand as singer soloist then as musician, arranger and composer. He will play with this group during several years on scenes like “L’Olympia”, “Le Palais Des Congrès”, “Le Zenith de Paris”, “Bercy” and “le Pavillon Baltard”. The desire to be carried out in solo is made more and more feel but, married recently, he is found constrained to engage in a “money race” as a professional musician going of meetings studios in concert through France and Europe then on some Tv shows, he will thus accumulate many hours of flight as a singer, musician, arranger or songwriter for artists so different as varied like JALANE, ASSIA, LEADER VOCAL, CUNNIE WILLIAMS, FDY PHENOMEN, TANYA ST VAL, WELCOME-CHARLES, TRIBAL JAM, JULIE ZENATI, MATHIAS HEIMLICHER, NBA, PIERPOLJAK, TOWER OF GOSPEL, ANJA LEHMAN, SCOTT WALTERS, WILLIAM ST VAL, GOSPEL SANS FRONTIERES, MARCO AVESANI, AWAKE, LEAH BICEP, JEAN MARC REYNO, BRASS OF PRAISE, SHELOMITH, NEW GOSPEL FAMILY, JANINE B, JOHN FEATHERSTONE, PASCALE BENMANN, JOEL FILIN as well as in several gospel choirs. Strongly invested of a true faith in God through his son Jesus-Christ, Jean-Marc devotes today entirely his life and his talent of musician to Him.

Jean-Marc LERIGAB Aka « Mejay », né à Paris et d’origine antillaise, grandit dans une famille de quatre enfants aux Lilas, en banlieue parisienne où il découvre la musique à l’âge de onze ans sur un vieux piano Gaveau dans le salon de leur appartement. Au fil des mois, il travaille l’instrument en essayant de reproduire à la note près, tout ce qu’il entend à la radio ou à la télévision, il acquiert alors un sens de la mélodie et de la composition et commence à enregistrer sur un magnétophone à cassette, ses premières compositions.
Cinq ans plus tard, à l’âge d’environ seize ans, il se voit sollicité pour jouer dans son église aux côtés d’un jeune petit batteur de quatorze ans n’étant autre que son cousin WELCOME CHARLES. Ils forment à l’époque un duo piano/batterie quasi inséparable et de b--ufs en b--ufs, ils développent chacun pour leur part un jeu en groupe qui leur servira plus tard.
Jean-Marc fonde à l’âge de dix huit ans son premier groupe « FAX 7 », formé de sept musiciens et choristes dans lequel il jouera des compositions originales allant du funk au jazz/rock en passant par la pop ou le zouk.
Au bout de six années d’existence et après plusieurs tournées dont une aux Antilles, le groupe enregistre son premier album « Point d’interrogation ».
Entre temps, Jean-Marc découvre, en région parisienne, la chorale Gospel de Master Music, connue aujourd’hui sous le nom de « NEW GOSPEL FAMILY », dans laquelle il sera sollicité en tant que choriste, chanteur soliste puis en tant que musicien, arrangeur et compositeur. Il tournera avec le groupe pendant plusieurs années et se produira sur des scènes comme l’Olympia, le Palais des congrès, le Zénith de Paris, Bercy ou encore le Pavillon Baltard.
Les difficultés à gérer son emploi du temps entre les deux groupes, Fax 7 et Master Music, l’amènent à quitter Fax 7 après environ sept années de bon et loyaux services.
Il se consacre alors de manière plus intensive à la composition et à l’arrangement pour plusieurs groupes dont Master Music.
Le désir de se réaliser en solo se fait de plus en plus ressentir mais, marié depuis peu, il se retrouve contraint de s’engager dans une « course aux cachets » en tant qu’intermittent du spectacle allant de séances studios en concert à travers la France et l’Europe puis sur quelques plateaux de télévision, il accumulera ainsi de nombreuses heures de vol en tant que choriste, musicien, arrangeur ou compositeur pour des artistes aussi divers que variés comme JALANE, ASSIA, LEADER VOCAL, CUNNIE WILLIAMS, FDY PHENOMEN, TANYA ST VAL, WELCOME-CHARLES, TRIBAL JAM, JULIE ZENATI, MATHIAS HEIMLICHER, NBA, PIERPOLJAK, TOWER OF GOSPEL, ANJA LEHMAN, SCOTT WALTERS, WILLIAM ST VAL, GOSPEL SANS FRONTIERES, MARCO AVESANI, AWAKE, LEAH BICEP, JEAN MARC REYNO, BRASS OF PRAISE, SHELOMITH, NEW GOSPEL FAMILY, JANINE B, JOHN FEATHERSTONE, PASCALE BENMANN, JOEL FILIN, ainsi que dans de nombreuses chorales et groupes de gospel.
Fortement investi d’une foi véritable en Dieu a travers son fils Jésus-Christ, Jean-Marc Lui consacre aujourd’hui entièrement sa vie et son talent de musicien.
