Standing on James 1:2-4, Contemporary Christian artist, Meka King uses her debut CD to share a poignant message and her testimony. Count It All Joy, is meant to encourage and inspire Gods people to worship, love and trust Him, no matter what. "God will never fail us, but when were going through we just need to be reminded that there is a reason for our adversity. Its not arbitrary," Meka shares. The Word tells us to count it all joy when we face various hardships, because the testing of our faith develops perseverance. And perseverance has a work it must finish in us so that we are mature and complete, lacking nothing. "I know that sounds absolutely crazy," Meka says. "Lord you expect me to celebrate when Im hurting and I feel like my world has been turned upside down? But I realized that this scripture was not telling me to be happy about my trouble. It's telling us to have hope and be of good courage, because something great awaits us once we make it through. He is purifying us during our trials so that when we emerge we are like gold- strong and valuable, precious and pure."
Meka toured for nearly 2 years with International Praise and Worship Leader, Ron Kenoly. As they traveled to the Nations, Meka soon discovered that God used her to create an atmosphere for change in the lives of His people. As people began to share their testimonies, Meka became sure of her calling to impact the Kingdom. Meka later became a background vocalist for several other Contemporary Christian artists and ministries including Martha Munizzi, LaRue Howard, Clint Brown, the Kenoly Brothers, William McDowell, and Al Denson. Working with such great worshippers gave Meka a strong foundation for the ministry that God has entrusted to her.
Meka has an intense passion to change lives through worship and music. But God revealed that changing lives also involves meeting people's physical needs. Reading II Corinthians 9:9-13, Meka learned that outreach goes hand in hand with our message. "Our service is to accompany our profession of the Gospel. We can sing, preach and impart to people, and still leave them unchanged. In order to really motivate transformation, we've got to meet their needs as well. That means feeding the hungry, providing clothes for the less fortunate, and helping the sick and disadvantaged. We can render our efforts to win souls ineffective if we don't provide for people first; so that they are ready to actually receive what we have to say. This is the very foundation Jesus laid and the ministry pattern He set for us." Meka desires to minister to the total man through her local outreach ministry, KINGDOM Ministries. KINGDOM Ministries, is working in the Central Florida community to impact lives through food and clothing drives, volunteering, counseling and contributions.
Meka is currently traveling across the country, and abroad, sharing her music and worship for crusades, worship services and other ministry functions. She has appeared on Trinity Broadcasting Network's PRAISE THE LORD, Bobby Jones Gospel, Today's Family, FOX Morning Blend and Lee Pitts Live. Meka is also a performer for several Central Florida theme parks: Cirque Du Soleil (Female Singer in La Nouba); Universal Studios Florida (Aretha Franklin Character in The Blues Brother's Show); Disney's Animal Kingdom (The Princess in the Festival of the Lion King Show)
