In our practices, we are interested in bridging and exploring a long-developed gap between high art and underground culture.
Through a process of “live-editing”, we create a situation in which the audience and performer are both hearing, generating, and editing the sound in real time. We continually experiment with these elements, and are beginning to form more structured performances that range in the level of improvisation.
The use of obsolete media paired with new technology is at the core of the live performances. Using footage we shoot, we create roomfuls of Super 8 and 16mm film projections. These projections become the visual element, but also contribute highly to the creation of sound.
We aim to create environments steeped in an appreciation and seduction of obsolete media paired with new media technology. We enact live performances rooted in improvisational and experimental practices. Through improvised live performances, we utilize cutting-edge electronics to produce responsive sound that reacts simultaneously to our bodies, the visual elements, and the presence of audience.
