Mel Gibbs

About me:

Hi, I'm Mel, I'm 18 and I am trying to sound profound.

It's funny how you find yourself in life, we try to take control of things we can't control, plan your life exactly, even though its already planned out for you; and we try to go down these paths cause we want to, or we think we have to because that's the norm, and things just never seem to work.
I have experienced this, I prayed 10 trillion of the same prayers, telling God how i wanted things to work and giving him strategies on how he could make those things happen. Guess what my plans never got answered, because although i thought that were right, God knew what was right, He placed me in an awesome place, were I i really found who i wanted to be, and who he wanted me to be.

"If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30 (CEV)

I really live by this verse, because to often i found myself, trying to control things in certain ways, and the burden just got to much, i was drained and tired and i ended up devastated when it didn't go as i prayed. But I then found rest in Him, i said "God, I am upset (like he didn't know) but I still trust in you, and i know this is where you need me, so show me what he want me to do", and he did.

Now I am an Intern at Church, and it is the most amazing thing i have done. I am a Youth Leader, a student at Bible College through church, I have a job, and soon to be a new job, which is even greater, I play guitar in youth and church bands, and I am playing things i never have, I have God given gifts which allow me to help people that have burdens, and get to design pretty much everyday!

Life isn't always how you want it, nor is it easy, nor will it ever be perfect, but my gosh, God only wants good for me, and thats what i get, i am constantly being challenge in myself and the way i act. I stuff up alot, i am messed up in my mind, i act in stupid ways, but i am still Mel and i will always be learning and growing to be all i can.

Things i want to do:
- ..Get a Skateboard.. and learn how to skate
- Get a Sony Ex-1
- Sing (well, eventually)
- Buy a Maton Performer
- Get a Nikon or Canon good DSLR
- Get really great at photography
- Read my bible more
- write songs for youth/church
- be confident
- be a better person
- Grow my gifts
- Save lives
- Be a better girlfriend
- Move in a house with Sal and dim and other (eg. Leal and Shell)
- Get Married (not just yet don't worry)
- Travel anywhere
- Go on the South Africa Mission
- CLEAN MY ROOM
- Cook more
- experience things beyond my thinking
- raise up an AWESOME generation of people living for Jesus Christ

I don't have a lot of money, but I am going to live a rich life. Changing the world!
