Melamara was a musical project born in Genoa (Italy) in the summer of 2003, a handful of songs were created from the ideas of Saverio Farina and Andrea Patria.
In the past they both have been members of some renowned rock bands within the Genoese musical scene (NETD, Kumara). Moreover, Saverio is well known as a sound engineer and producer of emerging artists, as well as for his contribution in the organization of local musical events.
To complete the rhythm section, Luca Ricciardi joined the group with his painstaking drums, which was developed from his R&B experience.
However, the final enhancement to the group was the entry of the transforming and ingenious verve of Alessandro Armosino, historic guitarist of several progressive/experimental rock bands (Kosmos, La Terza Dimensione, Grandangolo, ... just to name a few!).
At the end of 2007 Luca has left the group to pursue new opportunities, his place has been taken by Gianni "Tama" Trambusti, a drummer with a huge experience in the local underground scene (Alan Lads, Hush, Audiowave Band, ... is this enough to tell you how good the guy is?)
The band proposes its own repertoire of rock songs with lyrics strictly in Italian, alternating electric ballads and fast rhythms with some quiet but intense melodic pieces.
Everything is mainly inspired by classic rock with slight influences of the early '80s paisley underground and jangle pop.
