Melanie Martel was born on February 9th, 1977 in Fall River, Massachusettes (though she was raised mostly in south Florida). She knew at age 8 that she wanted a career in music.
In 2002 She relocated to Nashville,Tn to try and land a recording deal. Melanie's powerful voice, passion for life and love of music enabled her to make a living solely performing acoustically and with her band for 5 years in the heart of downtown Nashville,Tn. Melanie Martel has entertained numberous locals and visitors alike in Nashville for many years. She has performed on stages that legends were discovered on and has shared the stage with artists such as Kid Rock, Jamie O'Neal, Big & Rich, Mark Wills, Poison, Rascal Flatts, Edwin McCain, Tanya Tucker and many more. She has worked with some of the most accredited musicians and writers Nashville has to offer.
Melanie has a unique vocal style that intertwines the words from her heart and soul with the music from her country and soulful rock influences. Since relocating to Los Angeles in March of 2007 she has sang back up for her all time favorite band Poison on a live Capitol Studios recording and live on the Craig Fergusson Show. She is currently working on writing, recording and filming new material with husband/producer Rikki Rockett .
Influences
Grew up influenced by SOOOO many different styles from motown to country...but the ones that stick with me the most I think are..Stevie Wonder, most 80’s Glam Rock bands, The Black Crowes, Bryan White, The Wilkinsons, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Jellyfish, Joss Stone, Maroon 5 , Kenny Loggins & The Beatles.

Hi Melanie, I just wanted to say congatulations. I asked Rikki how you guys were and he said "great". My oldest just turned 9 on July 15 and my youngest turns 1 Aug 25...it's true what they say, time flies! Enjoy!
