"Melanie Moser’s loose, multihued songs have been coloring the fringes of the local underground scene for years. She has the sort of low-key magnetism that draws complementary musicians to her, and her current group ably assists in elevating her pretty folk tunes to someplace between the now and then. Her music is of the earth but tends to hover a few inches above it, know what we mean?" - TIMEOUTNY 2008

OTHER MUSIC BLOG...."charming Americana trance pop/adult contemporary psych chanteuse Melanie Moser, whose 2005 full-length solo release included collaborations with members of Oneida, Oakley Hall, Tomorrow’s Friend and Awesome Color. Supported tonight by the Eleventh Hour Band, which adds a country twang to her typical folk-rock repertoire, this show is recommended for anyone who is intrigued by what it would sound like “if Joni Mitchell (circa 1974) were traveling across Turkmenistan with an alternative country rock band.”

"Opening act Melanie Moser also stuck to a simple pop sound, albeit with a rockabilly flair. she performed solo with just an electric guitar and a loop pedal, allowing her to record riffs and layer them on the spot. her 30-minute performance consisted of three songs book-ended by jams which she performed with her back to the audience. unfortunately, this maneuver made it somewhat difficult to perceive when she began and ended her set. her voice, while solid and pretty, was hard to hear over her guitar and so it was difficult to fully appreciate her songs." - casey lyons of Williams College w/ Au Revoir Simone, 2008

One Fan on ONE TUNE MORE: What with one thing and another I didn't play your CD until this weekend. And then look OUT...It rattled me to the core. I felt the way I did when I was 10 or 12 a began to be interested in what hymns were trying to say. Those early emotions came flooding back in -- confusing and captivating. I listened to it over and over
and still am...The third cut fits so well. I can't imagine how you crafted the album. It stands all of a piece like a single painting or a piece of sculpture. Rock of Ages is stunning and as scary as it was the first time I heard it. Your voice, the arrangements, the other singers -- there's an innocence to it -- but with heavy heavy edge.
Congratulations, please tell me it's going to be heard and cherished by millions...
PS I'm not a fan of "Christian" music as a rule -- your album is so christian, it's pegan. Lovely, lovely work.
hello melanie, thinking about you today and your beautiful songs. would be nice to have you here to sing and play in the sunshine....if you ever feel compelled to visit the coast north of SF, let me know.....
