I grew up in Utah Valley. One evening when I was 8 years old, walking down the long country lane that leads to my parents house, I looked at the towering Rockies burning in the sunset and saw beyond them for the first time. I had no idea what that meant, but I can still feel that moment. I boarded a train in the middle of the night when I was 18 with suitcases and my guitar and rode for 3 days to Virginia, not knowing a soul farther east than Denver. I cried the entire time. Since then I've learned to play the guitar, found folk music, and watched my life unfold in retrospect through the songs I've written. I never live in the present, at least I haven't for a while. I'm always somewhere else, but I'm trying to change that. I spent a summer experiencing the magnitude of Central Washington sunrises. I will always be waiting to go back to Italy, no matter how many times I go. Virginia has become my best friend; she's a dear and I love her deeply. But you don't care about that, you're here for the music. Which is great! I'm glad you're here. Thank you. I just came up with a compilation of recordings I've done in basements, bedrooms, and living rooms between 2006 and 2009 called "These Strums: The Living Room Recordings". I'd love for you to have a copy. I make them all myself and hand paint the covers, so each one is different. Its actually a lot of fun. You can buy on at my Etsy store, copy and past this link, and thanks for stopping by. Pass it on if you like it. -> http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=23153067

I thoroughly enjoyed your performance of that poem tonight. Also I hope you play your song (sorry I didn't catch the title) but I think it goes "you say the coast is clear but you say that all the time" again some time at The Soundry. That's my favorite of your songs that I've heard so far!
