Interests

  • General

I like gossiping, which I feel semi-bad about because recently my husband pointed out that everyone I'm gossiping about is probably gossiping about me. This is a fairly unpleasant thing to realize, and now I'm trying not to gossip so much. Also, when I think about how much time I spend gossiping and how much I could accomplish if I spent that time, say, learning French, I'm chagrined.
  • Music

I have the absolute worst taste in music. I love really cheesy seventies stuff, and ABBA, of course. But sometimes someone will turn me onto something cool, like Belle and Sebastian or The Shins or Wilco, so I'm not a completely hopeless case. When I was younger, I used to listen to whatever music the guy I liked was listening to, which I now regret. Did I really need to spend an entire week memorizing the lyrics to Ratt "Out of the Cellar"?
  • Movies

I would very much like to be the kind of person who enjoys foreign films because I think that implies a certain worldly quality I would like to exude. But the truth is that when it comes to movies, I like absolutely anything where there's a long montage in which a woman goes shopping and gets a haircut or a couple is pictured in implausible romantic settings.
  • Television

"Veronica Mars" and "Sex and The City"--always and forever.
  • Books

This could be a long list, so I'm going to stick with current favorites. I just read "Dairy Queen," and "Inside the Mind of Gideon Rayburn," both of which came out this month, both of which are amazing. All-time favorites are probably "To the Lighthouse" and "Emma."
  • Heroes

    Judy Blume, Norma Klein.

    Hello!
I just read "The Breakup Bible" and I really enjoyed it! I even laughed out loud at a few parts :) I really liked the 13 year old kid, Danny. He's like my own 13 year old brother: annoying and doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I'd prefer having the questions asked through a blog comment on that Ask Book Chic entry, or through a myspace message, or in the facebook group.

    Hi!
I just finished "If I Have a Wicked Stepmother, Where's My Prince?" and I loved it! I really identified with Lucy. I'm going to see if my school's library has "Confessions of a Not It Girl" tomorrow. You're an awesome author!!!

No I have not... I acutally never really liked reading till this year. There is so much drama in my life it's so comforting to just sit down and read now... I never thought i'd be like that but i am.
