Behind glass and bars his trunk swings, Not so long ago he was shackled by chains. He thought he had found a friend in the foes Now that friend makes him feel the bull hooks blows. They have five fingers and toes just like we do And a brain that could think long before science ever knew. But the dumbest of all primates locked them in a cage Now they weep and ask why in experimental pain. She lies beside the dumpster looking for a scrap But she wasn’t always hungry, she was once some ones cat. They threw her away thinking she’d survive on her own She’s still waiting for them by her long ago home. They call it a farm but it’s more like hell Thousands of animals cramped in tiny cells. Electrocuted and tortured, their skin traded for cash Coats made of animals worn by human trash. They’re thrown into rings and made to kill other dogs A breed now destroyed for man’s twisted wrongs. People say they’re bad but they’re forced to be that way They were taught to fight when they just wanted play. They live in the ocean and them we can’t see So man rapes their home that was once pristine. Now polluted they struggle to survive And from the hooks of man this world must hide. We hear the stories day after day And wish for our world to change. But we must fight to make it happen, And now the war has begun. Some passions of mine include a good read, painting, working out at the gym, ROLLER BLADING (what a thrill!), going for picnics, bike riding, hiking, camping and the classic lines of a Jaguar. I love rainbows and starry nights, the smell of spring on the air in the early morning, the feel of my dog's tongue on my face, the sun on my back and my daughter's whispered "I love you Mommy" as she drifts off to sleep. Although I am a quiet optimist by nature, I am very passionate and believe any battle worth fighting is worth fighting WIN or LOSE! I am also resiliant, patient, goal-oriented and driven, have a larger than life personality (which I have learned to keep tightly under wraps, well, most of the time)and always have a plan B, C,...As I get older I have a long list of goals that I intend to complete before my time on God's green earth is finished: They include but are not limited to: 1) Live till I'm 105 (or at least beat out the Delaney sisters) 2) Sky Dive at 90. Theory being, well, if the shoot doesn't open, my heart will give out before I hit the ground. 3) Write a book. 4) Safari in Africa and make friends with an Elephant! 5) Read, study, learn about everything that fascinates me. 6) Go back to school. 7) Travel the world. 8) NO climbing a icy, cold, frozen mountain for me, but definitely living a full summer down at the beach. 9) See my daughter grow up to be the best that she can be. 10) Leave this world knowing I made a difference. No matter what disappointments life throws my way, my motto truly is "LIFE IS GOOD!"
