About me:

Hey this is Melissa. Well I guess I can start at the beginning since most just don't put anything down about themselfs but just want they are looking for. I started out at a very young age knowing that there was something just not right with me. I knew that I wanted to be a girl from age 4. I first started like most by sneaking into my sisters panties when no one was around (sorry sis...lol). I kept doing that till I was about 7 or 8 then I moved in with my godfather so I wasn't able to do that as often. I would sometimes go back to my moms house for afternoons and weekends and thats when I started taking my sisters clothes with me back to my house. I would have alot of time in the afternoons after school to myself so I would dress alot but always worried that I would get caught. I almost did several times. When I turned eleven, my mom moved from Richmond to southwest Va. so I had a choice to move or stay with my godfather. I choose to move so I was off to the mountains and a new experience. It limited my dressing to just when I could be alone at home and that wasn't often. Its hard to explain the feeling of being trapped in the wrong body and not able to express who you are. At the age of 17 I moved out of my mom's house and started living on my own. Yep thats right I had my own house, still went to school and believe it or not was working three jobs too. So i was able to dress all the time, buy my own clothes and everything. It would be 4 or 5 years later when I got married and also get a computer to explore what the tg community is and that I wasn't alone in this world. OMG there are others like me out there. So you know me, I was all into the computer. I did so much surfing it was crazy. After about two years of marriage we separated (nothing to do with me being tg, was other issues). I started meeting other girls and coming out to friends and family. At this point I was still crossdressing and had not started transioning at all. I was depressed and went through several jobs and also several times not working for over a year. Moving back and forth to my mom's and putting her through hell. She doesn't support my decission for transioning, she knows but doesn't understand and not ready to be apart of it. I'm sure she loves me but I'm not going to push her into my lifestyle. Its a hard life to live but its getting better. Ok back to my story... So in 2005 I was able to goto SCC....if you don't know what that means your not TG....lol....so for you it means Southern Comfort Conference. Its a conference for transgender people to be able to talk to other transgender people and also doctors and other resources. Its the best thing that happened to me cause after SCC in 2006 I made up my mind that I was ready to start transioning. I went down to Richmond to look for a job and with no luck ended back up at my moms till Feb 2007 when a friend of mine offered me some work (thank you Erin, you are a sweetheart). So I went to her house and did some work and during the week went back to richmond looking for work. I made the decision not to take a job unless I could work as Melissa. The first job I interviewed for as Melissa, I was offered the position so I took it. It doesn't pay alot but I have insurance and great people to work with and that means alot more then the money right now. Oh yea did I mention that I get to work as Melissa......:) So then I manage to get a townhome and some great roommates to live with to help pay the bills. We are all transioning so we support each other and help each other out. I have also manange to change my name, start hormones, and live fulltime since Jan 07. I still have alot to do to get to my goal of surgery. Yea I plan to have surgery. So will see what happens throughout the next year. I have lots of great friends and making new friends everyday. I'm part of a great group here in Richmond called James River Transgender Society... http://www.jrts.org Check them out. Thanks for reading this and there will be more to come for sure!!! Hey, Miss Melissa! I hope Richmond is treating you well in my absence. I should be back the first Friday of June.
And since it's coming up on a year since I've seen you, I think a get-together is long overdue! Take care, and for god's sake have fun!
Amy

Hi Melissa. Thanks for the add. Rob has always had wonderful things to say about you! Your bulletin about him made me giggle. I'll expect some dirt about him from you soon...comeon you know you have some.
